Today I will have a procedure done at 1 pm at Montgomery Regional Hospital. I have several bulging discs in my lower back which is excrutiating pain. They want to first give me an epideral streroid injection. If this doesn't work then they want to do surgery. I really don't want to have surgury, so I am praying to God that this injection will take away this pain. I really appreciate all who pray for me. Thank you so much. I am terribly afraid to have this done because there's always a chance I could become paralyzed:(

Rhonda, I will be praying for you and the doctors that all goes well. DH had a bad back years ago, back then he had a procedure that they do not do anymore because people were dying from it, it was called a chymopapain injection, made from Papaya. That was in 1984, technology has come a long way. Feel better soon!!! I'll be thinking about you.

First let me say that I will be praying for you. My father has had this done two times before.. They inject cortizone between his vertebre's. Are you going to be having more of these injections? I know for my father's first round he had to get a total of 6-8 injections.. He has no insurance so it was EXPENSIVE!! Everything will go well!! I will be praying for you that your pain will subside and that you will have a speedy recovery!

I will be thinking and praying for you today. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Make sure to take it easy and relax! Surgery is never fun. My dad had something like it on his upper back, and he was down for awhile, but it is much better now. Don't stress it though, I am sure that no matter what happens you will be feeling better with time!

Rhonda, I will be praying for you. I had epidurals in my lower back for bulging disc several years ago. I had three shots (one every three weeks) and they fixed me up completely. They were not painful and I have had no problems since. My pain was so bad that I could not stand up long enough to brush my teeth or shower. Plse have only GOOD thoughts!

you are in my prayers. I was afraid to have an epidural when I was in labor but everything went wonderful. God Bless!

I just wanted to personally thank each and everyone of you guys for all the prayers. I am still numb, so I don't know if it will ease the pain. At the moment I feel nothing YAY! Most of my pain was on the right side and the discs were bulging from the right side. The only thing showing now is that my left foot and leg are swollen pretty huge and I read on the paper they gave me that it would be normal but if it persists then I should see my doc. I have a follow up appt with my orthopedic doc on the 13th of this month. I pray that God has taken away this pain for good as I have had enough of it. My 99 year old daughter doesn't understand why mommy couldn't pplay with her for the past several months. The pain interrupted my entire life. Thanks again for all the prayers and the thoughtfulness that you gave me, a perfect stranger. :) Prayers work, and I am strong believer in God and nice friends like you guys! I hope that I won't have to go through this again, but I can say that the staff was very nice and I really didn't feel any pain while the procedure was being performed.

Rhonda,
Just saw this today- I'm so happy that it worked for you! Will pray that it continues to work and that you will feel better as soon as possible! :) Yep, those spinal needles look scarier than they are (we had a doc, when I was in L&D show the women AFTER he gave then the epidural what the needle looked like...I always wondered why he did that? So they could feel proud? What? They don't go in all the way unless you are 300+ pounds and about 4' 11" then you need a bigger one! Plus it depends on where they are doing it...etc.etc. OK, off soap box ;))
Feel better!
Nancy :)

Rhonda, how wonderful to hear that you are feeling better. More shots may be necessary but now that the first one is over they will be easier. I had to have three and then I was good as new. We will continue to remember you in our prayers. I know your daughter is looking forward to having you whole again. Keep your chin up!:)

In my last post I said my daughter was 99 LOL  she's 9. Today my pain is about a 5, but I won't let that discourage me. Like some of you said, I may need more injections. I was so hoping one would take care of the problem. My mom says I need to see an arthritis doctor since that's how all of this began when I was 18. I have given this to God and he will find a way to help me. Today as a treat I decided to highlight my hair myself:eek: . I have medium brown hair and I have a few more minutes before washing it out. I don't want to go to church tomorrow if my hair turns out yellow or some other ridiculous color, so pray that it works. I got soft blonde highlights, and I doubt that was the best decision for my dark hair color LOL. I will let you guys know what happened. Worse comes to worst I guess I can hibernate in my home. If I am unable to go to church I will read my bible and watch it on tv. I love you guys for all your prayers. :) Thanks again!! One more thing, how do you guys add a special saying at the end of your posts? I have my name already vut I want a personalized message to show as well.
