Hello everyone! I just wanted to ask for prayers for Jake.... Jake is a young man that had an accident in February. He was driving a dump truck and the brakes failed. He was thrown from the truck and was hit by it. He has been through so many hurdles. He is still hospitalized, and is having a problem with infection. They have been unable to close the wound to his backside. I don't know this young man, but there was an article in our local paper about him. He needs prayers more than ever! :) He has had so much to overcome in his short life. He graduated high school while still hospitalized.

Thanks for the prayers....keep praying. He is having a tough time dealing with this latest set back (depression). He is in the hospital an hour and a half away from home, so it makes it really difficult for his friends to visit. And the fact that they are getting ready for college, and he is unable to do that at this time is probably hard as well. Thanks once again, ladies.....

I can understand why he would be so depressed, but, he is a strong young man and he will get through this Still praying for healing and a speedy recovery. Thank you for the update.

Update
Hello everyone. Jake is doing okay but there is some leakage still and we have the spe******t paged. The game plan now is to go in Monday and try to do all the grafting. He is very limited on the donor site. We pray that it will be enough to cover the site. If not, we will be transferring to Augusta Burn Center in Augusta, Ga for other options. Jake is losing so much blood and protein and nutrients through the wounds that his body cannot heal itself. The biggest concern now is to cover the wounds as quickly as possible so he can heal. Augusta burn center are the experts on wound care and grafting. Please keep him in your prayers. He is tired and weak and needs all the prayers possible. Thanks and keep posting and praying that all goes well and we can move forward or to find a solution so we can move forward. I would also like to say a big thank you to Randy Payne and Coosa Valley Tech for the two day blood drive. They collected 93 units for Jake. That is awesome and thanks to all who donated. As of now Jake has used 206 pints of blood. That is an unbelievable amount and we want to give back to the community as much as possible since the blood supply in this area is so low. Thanks to all.

His name is Jake Bloodworth, that is really all I know from the local news stories. That is such a nice thing to do. He has really been through a lot. I know the local blood assurance would probably let you do this, as they have had blood drives for him before. If you have one in your area. The Red Cross might, I am not sure though. Thank you so much! I know his family would be appreciative too!

Update.....
Sorry to be so long in posting, it has been a busy week. Jake is doing great. He has a huge appetite finally, and the feeding tube was taken out. His wounds are healing beautifully and all urology problems are fixed for now. We will eventually have to go back to Erlanger to have major surgery to reconstruct the bladder but it will be at least a year or so. I am in the process of hopefully moving him home to Redmond. I talked with all doctors today and we have decided that the first of next week is what we are shooting for. Please pray for Jake's sake it happens. I would like to extend a personal thank you to Jerry Collins. He put in touch with a wonderful organization called Disability Link. I met with them today and learned of various grants and organizations that will help with the cost of a van for Jake. Most people dont realize that a handicap van for Jake's needs are around 70,000.00 even for a used one. Which is astronomical but a necessity. Roger and I will meet with a group Sunday that will help show us what is needed and help with applying for grants. Thanks for keeping on posting and praying as we enter a new healing phase. Love, Andrea
Thank you for the prayers, ladies.....they are working! :D Hugs ~ Kim
