I hope this is the right place to start this thread.
Please post any pictures you have enhanced with Photoshop or other graphic program.
Hey ... feel free to post links to pix you won't mind me playing around with also. :)
Here are a few I have done. Bear (or is it bare) in mind that I am teaching myself and haven't read any books on the subject. So, I know they aren't the best but I am learning as I go. If I had a Wacom tablet I am sure I could do better but for now I am having to do everything with a mouse.
This original of this one was a very faded family portrait. My sis-n-law had passed away so I made this for my niece and nephew.

Ok, here's some photoshop work I've done. One hobby is genealogy, so these are old very old photos of ancestors that I've enhanced.
my grandma is the youngest girl in the before picture (taken in 1891). I wanted a picture of just her parents for a photo "tree" on our family room wall.
http://i335.photobucket.com/albums/m450/pjskelton/scan01B.jpg
the next 2 are my grandpa's aunt, & the 3rd one is his uncle's family. (These were taken about 1870-1880) My great-great grandparents had 11children & I managed to find a decendant of 9 of them, & some of them sent me copies of old family photos. A couple years ago I had a 340 page book printed that included lots of old photos & documents. Forty descendants bought a copy of the book. Here's an example of the photos I enhanced

Oooh I LOVE them! You did an excellent job on all of them. I know your family must be extremely happy to be able to get such good quality pix from old photos.
I believe that is my fave aspect of Photoshop ... the way we can preserve old photos. :)
When my son married, we had a picture taken of him, my 2 girls, hubby and I, and my ex with his wife all together. I made copies of all of us together for the 3 children but then I used Photoshop to eliminate ex and his wife from the photo for my home and then one w/o hubby and I for my ex's home. :)
Jessiegirl, thank you so much for the compliment!

I actually do more of an abstarct photography... some people think it's weird, but I find joy in it. On most of these photos I don't use photoshop or any type of editing, they come straight off of my camera.
I also like taking pictures of the fosters that come in and out of my home. I like to capture how they truly were.
This was my first foster Pico. This shows the fun loving side of him.

Amanda, Love the pix. The one you said is your fave turns out to be my fave also. Was that photoshopped or some odd setting on your camera? It is so awesome!
AzuAngel, glad you like it. :)
As for how I do it ... I know y'all prob don't believe me ... but I honestly don't know what I am doing. I just keep playing around until I get something I like. I do sorta loosely follow this tutorial quite a bit:
http://nocturnal-devil.deviantart.com/art/Photomanip-Tutorial-41990894
As for colorizing, I just started that last night. I dl'ed a free trial of the Akvis colourizer plugin for PhotoShop. It is amazing! I would soooooo love to have a Wacom tablet and the full set of Akvis plugins. With some practice I could do some work from home and help us get out of this mess we are in. And wouldn't that be awesome ... to be able to work and also be doing what I like to do!!!
Btw, I just joined OPR (operation Photo Rescue). The volunteers there help restore photos damaged in floods, fires, etc. I figure it would be a great opp to help others plus learn tips and tricks on restoring. If anyone is interested, it is here:

thanx...i will see if i can find a good tutorial...what i do believe it or not, is just use the paintbrush tool...i approach it like a drawing or painting for the shades, etc...i use different size brushes for outlines and the colors...i also use a wacom...so it really is just like sitting and drawing it...i don't know if that makes sense LOL...i'm gonna look for a tutorial, explaining things isn't a skill i'm known for :D
twowhit...thank you very much for the wonderful compliments!!! and yes, i do this for a living ;) it is so much fun too!!

A few weeks ago I played with the idea of max doing paintings for our rescue... I know it sounds silly... a dog paint? lol. I recently did 2 for my office. They are 8 X 10'S that are in fuscia and lime green. I dipped his paws in non toxic paint and let him walk on a piece of computer paper. It didnt look half bad. I framed them in a black frame and hung them up. Today I took them down and decided they needed something. I glued on a few seqcuins the the "paiting" and they look great!!! it's actually very "chic" I'll upload pics soon. I am thinking about doing one for his old foster mom in different colors and doing a red seqcuins heart.... how cute. Anyway, just thought I would share this idea.

--both of these programs use controls and provide features similar to Photoshop
If they run Windows XP or Vista, they might want to try Sumo Paint--lots of features, and absolutely free. Link: http://sumopaint.com/web/
Another great free photo editing program--Artweaver from Germany. Link to the English version of their website: http://www.artweaver.de/index.php?en_version
