We met a little two-year-old during a visit to see some old friends the other day. We added this little child to our prayer list, but this little soul could use all the prayer they can get.

Their story from what I was told the other day:

Mother lost custody of all of the older children to their father
Father would gladly take this child, too
Three of mother's ex-BF's doing time for drug dealing/manufacturing
Mother and BF had a meth lab that started their home on fire with the kids there
Child protective services removed two-year-old from mother's "care" earlier this year
At thirty-some months of age when removed from mother's "care", two-year-old weighed less than twenty pounds, wore size 12 months clothes, couldn't speak any words, not at all potty-trained, etc.
Under care of child services okayed caregiver and a relative for a few months, two-year-old now weighs over thirty pounds, speaks, is potty-trained, etc.
Mother has now had another child
Child services is giving the two-year-old back to the mother in a "last chance" try despite many people's protests
If the mother goofs up one more time, and if, if, if, the two-year-old survives the mother's "care" again, child services will give the two-year-old to the father, period.Frankly, we are praying the child is spared from going back to the mother, or that if this stupid decision is followed through, that the child survives the mother's "care" long enough for the mother to goof up, so the child goes to their father and older siblings. The latest child needs our prayers, too, I'm sure after the mother's track record of "care". :(

Prayers for that child and the baby also, I feel so bad for those kids. If you ever hear what happens to these kids please keep us updated.
I cannot understand the reasoning of these judges giving the kids back to someone which such a poor track record. Why hurt the kids more??? I can understand if the mom/dad has made a complete turn around but having more babies?? when you clearly cannot and have not taken care of the kids you have.

Definately added to my prayers!

Why oh why didn't they take the baby away also? Crazy, crazy world we live in!

In my prayers for sure! And i agree, i hope the mother "goofs up" real soon so the child can join her father & siblings, where she belongs.
