They just changed the release date of the movie and I am not happy. It was supposed to be released on November 21st, which isn't too far away. But NO!!! Now it is not being released until JULY 17th OF 2009:eek:

Here is the reason!

A n a k e d Harry Potter has scared off the movie "Harry Potter."

Warner Bros. has announced moving its sixth Potter film, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," from Nov. 21, 2008, to July 17, 2009. The reason? Officially, there is no reason, except that "a spot opened on the summer schedule."

That's not much of a reason. The real story? Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe will be right in the middle of his sensational, highly publicized run on Broadway in the play, "Equus." Radcliffe appears n a k e d in the play, on stage, and has *** in it as well. That's not the image Warner Bros. wants associated with bespectacled Harry, who remains chaste and virginal.

Indeed, posters for Equus are up all over New York, of Radcliffe's n a ked torso superimposed on a horse's head. This is not the sort of thing that's taught at Hogwarts. For the movie to open on Nov. 21, Radcliffe would have to do publicity entailing answering questions about blinding horses and having *** with them vs. flying around and making potions.

Warner Bros. does not want this scenario. By the time "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" debuts, "Equus" will either have concluded its run or Radcliffe will have completed his contract. And there will be little mention of any horsing around.

Oh my! I had no idea that he was in a play. I don't really think they will have that much of a problem selling out their movie even with him na ke d in a play. But guess that doesn't really matter cause it is already changed.:(

Ya I understand where they are coming from, but to be honest this one isn't for little kids anymore and they have said that for awhile. The age group it is aimed at should understand that he is just acting in the play and not take it against Universal. And little kids seeing it, well they most likely won't even see the play of him n a k e d, so what are they worried about? I think that they have made alot of people mad by moving it, and this just makes it even longer until the final movie is released, and their crowd is getting older as time goes by.

Oh my!! Are there like pictures of it online? He seems so young to me to be doing that, but he is over 18. He is making some big bucks now though. What play is it that he is doing to where he has to take his clothes off and act like he is having s e x in it? That is one interesting play!

I saw the other day that one of his cast members from Harry Potter will also be doing a n a k e d scene in some play. And i also read somewhere that in the next Harry Potter film that Harry will be doing a n a k e d scene in that. I don't know if any of this is true just read it somewhere online. He must like to be n a k e d :p

I don't know why there would be a n a k e d scene in the next movie. The next movie he is in a relationship, but the book says NOTHING about anything that would make you think there would be a scene like that. I wonder if it is true. If there is nudity isn't it mean the movie is rated R?

I can't remember where i read it but it said that the movie would have a *** scene at the end or something like that, and yes that would make it an R rated film which would probably disappoint some young ones that read the books and see the movies. Now that i think about it, it probably is just a rumor cause they wouldn't have pushed the opening of this movie till next year cause of his n a k e d scene in the play if he was just going to be n a k e d in the next movie.

Ya it probably was. I am pretty sure that I saw that it is PG13 or somthing. It goes up as the books go on because of the violence, but I don't think they will put anything like that in it because then the kids really would not be allowed to see it. Even though when you go opening night, it is mostly people our age! People say some crazy things online. I still am curious about this play though. I am rather suprised that he is doing it, but then again it is a big thing to do a Broadway play also.

The name of the movie is Equus. It is a screen adaptation of a book. Here's the info on the book itself:

Thanks both you ladies! Both were helpful. Isn't the thing over with now? So I don't see why they are not keeping the original date. I am wondering if it is something else on top of that, that made them change their minds. It was just a tease to release the previews and then be like oh no I am sorry you have to wait another year now AFTER seeing some of the best parts of the movie:mad:  :(

If you scroll down a little you will see the new trailer for the movie. They said the last one was basically a teaser not a trailer. This one shows a little more of what to expect!! Too bad it is not coming this month like planned and is not coming out until summer.:(

si i had read somewhere that the reaso why this movie was bumped to summer was because they didnt want to trample over twilight. that being said, there is a harry potter trailer right before twilight starts. And than to top it off, harry potter comes out in July, but the sequal to twilight, new moon, comes out in november of next year. Let us just hope that warner brothers doesnt change their minds again.

That may be a reason, but they were also afraid parents wouldn't let their children go see the movie since Daniel was doing a Broadway play and he was *****. There were probably lots of reasons why they didn't realease it when they were supposed to. I know that they didn't finish taping it until a few months before also. Atleast they will be done filming all of them by the time the next one comes out.

Just announced, it will now be released July 15th. I am rather upset because I will be on my dive trip then and I don't know that I can see it the opening night let alone in IMAX. Guess I will have to wait until I get home and NOT look at the internet for 2 days.

It's almost Harry Potter time--been a long time coming. I'm getting excited for the movie. I'm sitting here frantically re-reading HBP before hubby and I go to the movie on Wednesday night. I just started it tonight, so don't know if I'll get if finished or not--I should know it by heart--I've read it so many times, but it's been a while since I last read it and I think I'm a little rusty on some of the details.
