This is such a tragedy. I will pray for the everyone involved, your friend and his children. It is horrible that anyone has to see something like that, much less the children.....

I heard about this on the news. I can't believe this happened. Atleast he didn't kill more people like he wanted too.
Yesterday morning a lady at work got a call from her son (he is a police officer in Lebanon which is where she lives) and there was a black male that hung himself from the swing set at a country church. The people that called the police just said he was hanging out by the church and they wouldn't go up and talk to him (it was an all white church and they were scared:confused: ) so when he got there he said "They didn't tell me that he was LITERALLY hanging!" He was 41 years old, lost his job and just found out he was losing this house, so he killed himself. This is the 4th suicide he has been called to in that area in the past 2 weeks!

I know! I couldn't believe it. So many people are going into a depression from the loss of jobs here. One of the big plants just laid off alot of people from a strike, so here people are taking it really hard. Hopefully the economy can get better and more jobs come available. I can't stand seeing people like this.

Well, its also sad that those people wouldn't even go over to him just because he was black! That really ticks me off!!

No, it was a really little church on the very edge of Lebanon. She lives right before you go over the bridge to go to Lafeyette, so it was out that way. I just couldn't believe that they would not to talk to him because I think they had been watching him for awhile cause I know they called the police a few times. How can you not notice someone that has hung themselves?! Or how can you be So scared at a church to go and talk to someone? I mean there were a few of them watching him!

Ya it makes me mad too. You know he could have been there because he needed help and thought a church was the best place to go, yet they wouldn't even give him that chance. They could have saved his life by going and talking to him.

I wonder why the man chose to go to that church to hang himself  But for those people that attend that church to just stand there and not speak to him or anything is just wrong. and I'm sure they seen him try and hang himself or something and did nothing. That's just terrible.

Exactly!! And the fact that it happened at church!! Your supposed to be able to go to church and feel safe, not judged, and who knows what could have happened if these ignorant people would or could of have helped him..

Well they said he was hanging out at the church by their playground, but were afraid to go talk to him. The cop got there and once he pulled up close saw that his feet were 2ft above the ground. He had to call more cops to come out so they could do a report and all. He was REALLY mad because he just thought the guy was sitting there so he didn't hurry and went to another call first. I don't think they actually saw him hang himself, but they saw him before and after it happened. Sad cause they could have saved someone's life if they weren't scared. I am sure that they regret it now, but it is really sad.
