Yep-I'm goin in hosp-this summer cold has progressed to Pneumonia(MDs & hubby all agree I do too much & have to tie me down)Sounds like nothing but routine stuff,but my Myositis(kinda rare)screws things up(alot of meds I can't take)Will have my laptop,but dunno how long I might be MIA.Prob gonna drive nurses crazy(I always do & I used to be an RN,so I know)& I know while I'm gone it'll be fastfood heaven-but I really do feel like doggie doodoo(ha ha -not censored)Love to my buddies here & keep findin this great stuff-Deb
Puffs w/Vicks is my GOD-my nose isn't sore anymore-lotion is ok,but for the long run I want Puffs w/Vicks.
PS-I always try to get out of being hospitalized,but this is1 of few times I couldn't-boys are afraid that like my aunt w/breast cancer I may not come home

Honey you sound like me! I'm gonna tell you what my family told me. You need to go get better.Your family needs you. If you are sick you can't give your family what they need.I'm sure you will start to feel better once all the meds start to kick in.Hang in there and remember your family needs you healthy.When I was in with phuemonia it was about three days and I was feeling like a new person again.So let the hospital take care of you for a few days so you can get back to your boys. :)

Sorry to hear you are sick, Deb. Glad you didn't fight going to the hospital- is good to take care of it before it gets worse.

I have already told you this but doesn't hurt to say it again, get some rest and let them pamper you, HA HA as much as you can be pampered in the hospital (well you could ask for a bed pan) lol
Seriously, get well. Listen to the doctor and take your meds.

Thanx for all the heartfelt encouragement-I def needed it.Goin on day 2 of hosp,& just kinda relaxing(if you can relax in hosp)I had to start my own IV(my veins aren't that hard to find)& the antibiotic has started clearing up my congestion,but still feelin a little weak-had a killer of a sinus headache yest.I hate that everytime they draw my blood,it's 6 tubes.Oh well,I just get bummed when my body doesn't cooperate-I take pride in the fact that w/ all my conditions,that I've kept flares @ bay & manage everything so well(I have no organ involvement w/ the Lupus & Myositis,just nerve damage that is more annoying than anything)-haven't been hosp in 2 yrs.Well,time for my resp treatment,so chat later.Thanx for all the support & no,I'm not driving the nurses too crazy.Deb

Oh, Deb, I KNOW how you feel! From one RN to another...we think we are driving each other crazy until we need each other to fill out our own admission, start our own IV, etc. I've even figured out dosages of meds for other pts. in Labor & delivery when it got too insane one day! (You are aslo talking to the woman you did all her paperwork in advance so all they would have to fill in were weights and a few other things when I had my girls! Consents signed. Everything done. Just handed them to the nurses as I contracted. ;) They were VERY thankful!)

I know you can't rest much in a hospital (we still need a yuck smiley over there!) but try...read site...lok at trashy mags, watch bad TV, sleep alot (yah, right)...be a good little pt. Well, the best little pt. you can! :) I just try to remember I am supposed to be on the OTHER side of the needle/bedpan/stethascope,etc. It's hard...VERY hard...I know.

Gonna be d/c on Mon-I'm kinda bored here & of course the weekend weather is gorgeous here-NO rain.They want to give me 1 more day of IV antibiotics & no work till Wed.Catchin up on my xword puzzles & mag reading.Hubby brought me my Saving Grace tshirt & said I have a ton of mail waiting.I am so going to relax when I get home-my hubby is so awesome to really have stepped up to the plate-he even said he mopped the floors today!(I don't let him do laundry-LOL)Thanx again all for keepin me positive-Deb

I can give myself a shot easily, but even if I knew how ... I just don't think I could hook up my own IV. Ouch! You are a brave one!

Take good care of yourself by letting someone else help take care of you when you get home. Sounds like you have a willing hubby. :)

Well all-I'm back cause things didn't go as planned-leave it to me!I was supposed to be d/c on Mon 7/28,but my white blood count & a few other things were a bit higher than they wanted,so they gave me an IV anti-biot b4 I was to leave.Well,gave me seizures & I almost bit my tongue off & fell to the floor & cracked the back of my head open.Then the fever & congestion came back,so I just got home today!I was pretty outta it for about a week,had 15 stitches,now back on seizure meds(I had a reaction to Flexeril in the past),& my tongue is pretty swollen & sore still.I wish I had a better story from being missing(like the Bahamas or something!)but I did get to go to the Neuro ICU-in the past 4 yrs I've prob been in every ward.Still real weak as this really made my Lupus act up.As I always say,I never do anything by the book-LOL.Boy did I have a TON of mail to go thru today.So,now I'm really gonna be talik it easy-don't know when I'm gonna go back to work.Deb

WOW. I was worried about you, thought you fell off the earth or something. Gee Deb, that is horrible! I'm so sorry that you had to go through all that. I hope your on the mend and feeling much much better. Prayers and hugs for you.
