You know what...it's possible that he is innocent and that his mother (who left him with his father to raise) was trying to blackmail him? I'll give him the benefit of a doubt. What really disturbs me is that the man who played the Joker got so much into his role that he had disturbing nightmares. This caused him to get the prescription which he overdosed on. According to the Common Sense review, the movie is full of unnerving images and inappropriate ideas for children, so why do they still market the movie toward children? When I read the review, I was reminded more of the "slasher" film genre than of the superhero genre. Don't get me wrong, I loved Batman Begins, Ironman, and the Incredible Hulk. I just won't see a movie that drove an actor to the brink of insanity.

You have a couple of good points, but that was Heath's own fault for allowing himself to get to that point, with all do respect. Heath's part in this movie was my favorite part! It's all in your head, that sort of thing. You can control your thoughts. I don't think the movie was necessarily directed towards children, that's why it's not rated PG or G. The movie has a good storey point to it, and that's what it's all about.

Like Jess said, I don't think this one is directed to children. That is why they came out with a cartoon version just recently for Batman.
I don't really know if he is innocent or not, and honesly don't really care to know. It is his life and his drama, so I leave that up to him to deal with. People shouldn't make judgements and such when they don't know the real story. (not saying anyone here is I am talking about the tabloids)
Ledger did get really into character, and he did have issues because of it. He was put onto the meds he had (legally) because of what the role was doing to him. Does that mean he was ok for taking the other pills he got illegally? NO. But yet again, you can't judge people. It was his life, and sadly he is gone now, but that was his choice to take the pills. It is sad that he was such a great actor and put himself into the role completely and that he lost his life dealing with it. I don't think people should judge him for that, because many people have tried doing those things before. Just because you don't do it, tried it once, or quit doesn't mean that you understand and should judge. I don't think it is right, but that is MY OPINION and simply that, my though of whether it is right or wrong. I can't hold it against anyone for doing what they think is ok if it is not hurting me.
