I would recommend the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evonavich. The first book in the series is One for the Money. These are some of the funniest books I have read in a long time.

If you like forensic science and mystery---CSI, etc---as I do, Patricia Cornwell's books are terrific. There is usually a triology of stories running through the novel: the case, Scarpetta's life, and someone else's life affairs. It is best to read them in order so you can be apprised of the main character's (Scarpetta) past.

I too have read all the Plum novels. I just LOVE all of the crazy characters and laugh out loud like a loon when I read them. Number 13 comes out in June I think and I can't wait!!!!

These books are really funny. My husband thinks I am nuts when I just bust out laughing. Don't you all have your own image of what Ranger and Joe look like? And can you imagine Lula and the clothes she is in. This just keeps rolling. I am so ready for #13 to come out.

You wouldn't think that a person who love Jan Karon's Mitford series would love these Janet Evanovich books just as much.
They are terrifically funny...I laugh out loud sometimes, too.:D
Can't wait to read number 13.

I also just read Lean Mean Thirteen. She is fantastic. People look at you like they want the little men in white coats to come get you when you just burst out laughing and can't stop.

I'm to number 9, and I have never laughed out loud to a book before reading these books. I think they should make a movie out of them. They are easy reading....I love them!:D

She also has in between number books. ""Plum loving"" is one. There are also a couple of others that are also included and are great books.

Do I need to read the Plum Series in order? B/c I bought the "Lean Mean Thirteen" the other day and didn't know it was a series, should I wait and start at the first one or what??

My mom and I enjoy these books also. We are up to 3 to get deadly...have to check goodwill to see if any more have come in. (I am cheap, i get my books for 59 cents each or 2/59 cents when they have a sale, then ebay the books after they have gone the cycle!)

Yes, do read the books in order as there are changes in some of the characters and with Stephanie as the series progresses. It won't hurt to read them out of order but for continunity, it is helpful to read in order.

I've read all the Stephanie Plum books even the one between the numbers. They are all very funny. I think her Grandma is a hoot but so is Lula. hehe
