Prayers for Baby Faith

Good morning everyone, I am pretty new to the Start Sampling Forum Family I saw some of the other threads and my daughter could really use everyones prayers right now. She was born on 2/21/08 3 months early(27 weeks) She has been in the hospital all this time. She has a bockage in her airway that we have already tried one surgery to fix the problem. Now the doctors want to do another surgery(3 at once acutally) They are planning on giving her a trach in her throat, an external feeding tube(g-tube) to her belly & another one for her reflux all at the same time. So really could use all the prayers we can get right now. Thank you all so much

I am also praying for all. Be strong as you can. A previous co-worker had a baby girl in a very similar situation, I can always remember the NICU pediatrician telling us that baby girls are fighters. Now, that baby girl is all grown up, married, and about to become a mom herself!

Update on Faith is she is having surgery tomorrow sometime. Of course I am going to be taking off work on Friday so I can be there with her as much as possible. She is having the Trech put in along w/ the G-Tube. I know she will be in Riley Hospital for a few more weeks after the surgery and will have to wait and see how she is doing before they will allow her to finally come home for the first time since she was born back on 2/21/08.

Only positive thoughts...I worked in high risk L&D for over 19 years and saw children that 'some' doctors said would never live graduate from high school with high honors! :D These staff members are truely wonderful- are know that if she is still at the hospital she was born at ...the staff that cared for you are probably visiting her every chance they get- watching her grow and become more and more beautiful each day. I did that with every baby I delivered or every pt I cared for...you never forget! :)

Please know she is loved by more than just family and your friends...I hope that helps.

Thank you everyone for the outpour of prayers. Faith has been doing okay not great since her surgery but okay. She was having a little trouble dealing with al the new stuff. They ended up giving her a blood transfusion yesturday and last night to help out her blood counts and help her out too. She is taking her food but not very much, kind of like when you don't feel good you really don't want to eat, well that is what she has been doing. So she will get there just in her own sweet time. thank you again everyone
