how do you get the cash? Do they send a check or do you have to open up a paypal account? thanks

As far as getting paid it depends on the site - most are now going to paypal. Here is a site that has tons of survey sites listed. I personally don't like Lightspeed - they wear out your e-mail address and 99% of the stuff they send you - you will not qualify for.

I have been doing survey for cash for about four years. So far this year I have made $170.
I make about $500 a year. Sometimes it does take a about two months to get your money. I make a copy of everthing and keep records.
But it does take allot of time. As of this time I only had one that has not paid. But I will keep on them till I here from them. They are Advisory Panel and I email every week.

oh yes the cash comes in the form of a check. now granted some survey sites you get points or credits towards gift cards and the like.. but surveyspot is all cash plus entries into their sweepstakes drawing. Also Lightspeed.com and Synovate.com and greenfieldonline. They all have given me cold hard cash for surveys. It can take up to 6 weeks for it to show up on your account, but it is so worth it. Thanks for the heads-up on other sites. Much appreciated.

I've had a lot of problems with surveys. I fill out all my information and they give me a listing of five other sites which are exactly the same as them. Then with in a few days I recieve tons of emails trying to get me to buy stuff. And some of the information they ask I feel is too much. For example why do they need to know my family memebers names, etc. They aren't doing the surveys, I am. The only surveys I have had which I found worth anything were surveys where they ask you about the samples you tried.

I may get brave and try these! Right after this forum openend I went to one of those sites 1 1/2 hours later in order to claim my prize (which started out as $16 from the survey co. then it was a lap top 1 1/2 hrs. later) which was now a $50 gas card. After all that I had to pick 6 offers to complete my survey each one requiring a credit card to either purchase something or pay shipping. The end result it was going to cost me approx $48 to get a $50 gas card. Now I'm scared that was a lot of time waisted.

These couple sites do not require you to participate in any sponsor offers. please trust me. i have been paid already. also I have $31 sitting waiting for to me to collect, I just haven't yet. That money is from surbeyspot!!!

this site wont let you join unless you click on their banner ad somewhere. thats how they weed out people they dont want. I tried signing up for 2 hrs the other day, including emailing them, and I was told I had to find a banner on certain web pages which they would not specify as to which websites show there banner either!

My favorite survey place is http://www.mysurvey.com/

You earn points; then you have various redemption options. I usually redeem mine for money which comes to me in the form of a check. You won't get rich, but after several months, I usually earn enough money to take my family out for a nice dinner.

I will definitely try some of the other recommendations. Thanks!

I also went to the site Annikas. It had a lot of information. I'm still leery of joining surveys, but I gave a couple more of them a try. There was one I had a question about. It was Homeschool.com, they send you products to try for homeschooling children. Has anyone ever heard of them or know anything about them? Thanks for everyones help. I really appreciate all the advice!

The only reputable place I know of is My Points. The send you e-mails, you get points for clicking through, more points if you take advantage of the offer. You can also earn points with online purchases through approved merchants. When you accumulate enough points, you can trade them for gift cards. I've been a member for years and love it.

VanillaBean, I was wondering HOW  you have actually made money with surveyspot.com? I have been a member with them for over 5 years, taking at least 3000 surveys, some that last for more than 45 minutes, and I have NEVER received anything from them except entries into drawings. I keep taking the surveys, perhaps like an idiot, hoping that my cash cow will come in and I will hit the jackpot drawing that I have 100000000 entries into! LOL.

Seriously, if you have any hints, please let us know! I can't wait for some tips!

Thank you in advance!

I'd like to know how to get cash from surveyspot also. It seems to me they don't offer cash rewards as much as chances at their drawings. Does anyone KNOW anyone that has won from their drawings?

Maybe I am in a diffferent demographic than you? I have just sent out for a check in the amount of $31.00. I submitted it to be sent to me on April 19th.
I already got a 20 dollar check from them. That was for trying out a Betty Crocker Boxed Homestyle Potatos. They sent it to me thru reg mail and then emailed me a couple days later with a follow-up survey on how my family liked them. 2 weeks later after that survey was submitted, I got a check in the mail and in went in the bank and cleared. All I can say/guess is I qualify for surveys in a demographic that has surveys with cash rewards too! i am sorry you have had no luck.

The Pinecone links on AmyLynns pages are generally not active links. Pinecone places the links every few months at various sites through the internet, and IF you happen to stumble upon one (which can be difficult) you should click on it. If you belong to AmyLynns list, you will generally get a heads up that the links will be active for a day or two, and where to expect to look for them. I hope this helps clear up a little of the confusion.

hint: check them every few days

These sites sponsors are trying to sell you something, but you don't have to buy on some of the sites. I use memolink.com which sends you emails that you get points for reading (clicking on). You can also get points by shopping through them for many national retailers. There are short surveys you can take to get points and my favorite is the trivia question. When you get it right you get 5 points. They have a site of the day you can click on to get 3 points. The only downside is that it takes quite awhile to earn anything. In the past they had some problems with the time it took to get your prize, but I have redeemed points and gotten a $25 Wal-Mart gift card and a $10 Chili's gift card. I also donated point to the American Red Cross ($10 by redeeming my points for this). I am now working towards a $50 Wal-Mart gift card- I still need 29,400 points. I would suggest you check it out to see if it might interest you. They have a refer-a-friend where you get 100 points if you enter your friends name and e-mail and then they join. So if any of you want to join and want to help out a "Wal-Mart loving friend", just let me know- lol.

[QUOTE=gwenelda;1773]I just found a site that keeps the pinecone survey banner updated for your convience in trying to get in. From what I understand they only accept people that are between the ages of 18-24 for some odd reason. I did fill out the app though and it stated I would be notified in a few days to let me know if I qualify which I more than likely wont due to the age group...etc. Anyway, here is the site to sign up for pinecone:

I joined Pinecone a few weeks ago and I'm 29, so that can't be true.

Good luck, I hope you get in. It's my favorite!

Hello Jane, I know it gets frustrating. it was for me at first. Make sure on each of the sites that you are a member for that you fill out your profile. This helps them to determine just what surveys you qualify for and then send them. I also log onto each homepage of each site everyday so they will have a record that I visit constantly, which, in turn shows them I am serious about survey taking. Also, welcome to the SS Forum. Glad to have you.:p

I have been a member with them for at least a year, probably more. I love that they started paying out thru paypal. I hated getting $5 checks here and there.

I am a busy beaver doing surveys all the time. I get points for many which you cash out for cool stuff. If anyone wants links to join them, I'll be more than happy to give them to you off list.

Here is a quick hint, Google Annika's and one of the first listings that should come up would be either her MSN group or her web page. She lists over 700 survey sites, including a black list to tell you what not to join, because of spam or wanting you to pay for a list of sites. She has tons of other information on making a little extra money on line. Be careful, further down the list when you Google Annika's is a link to an adult star, so stick with the top of the list, and look for the one that says msn in the address.

I don't know if I can actually post the link to her web page here, since I am an assistant manager there, and some of my referral links are on the PTR listings page.

If you can't find her group or page, let me know and I will get the link to you if you are interested.

And sorry to the ones who messaged me, and I didn't get right back to them, I had some computer issues that were giving me a real headache! Fixed now tho!

I do www.partnership-plus.com/signup/index.cfm for a year long survey on clothes that you buy. It pays $75.00 a year, all you do is list any clothes you have bought or gotten as a gift. It gives you 250 points per month which you can turn in for cash or other rewards.

mom2fussbudgets
07-22-2007, 11:25 AM
Sounds interesting! I don't buy clothing every single month though. Does that matter? Do you just list your own clothes? Or can you list your entire family's?

No if you don't buy anything just put zero's in and you still get the 250 points.

I have belonged to Zoompanel for about three years now. They keep fairly active. I have received many products to trial at home. My earned Zoompoints have been redeemed for children's books, a pizza peel and cutter, CD's, and so forth. They offer a lot of prize choices, or you can just keep saving your points to either redeem on one big points item or several small points items at once. I really like Zoompanel. You do have to use your points within a year, though, or the older ones will drop off. (Thank goodness, fingers crossed, never had that happen!)

After reading about Surveyspot here, I signed up a few weeks ago. I filled out dozens and dozens of surveys that only gave you entries into the drawing and felt a little frustrated, but I finally received two that told me that they will deposit money into my account, and a trial that will pay $10 once completed.

True, they will only pay you for the surveys you have been "invited" to. If you do all those surveys this week, and next week they need someone who fits your demographics, and you try to do the survey again, you will be denied for already answering it. Any place that asks for a credit card is one to avoid.. there is no reason a viable survey site needs that kind of info... sounds like one of those sites that ask you to complete offers to get "paid".... I wouldnt do it!

I agree...I will not give out info like that...that is how people get scammed! There are survey sites out there that dont ask for that!

Let me know what you think - I am hesitant to do the qualifying survey - you have to give a credit card...that makes me nervous!

Where did they ask you for a credit card? I've been, and I've taken one survey, but I have not been asked for a credit card number.

Hi everyone. I have found some university websites that pay, too. I just signed up a few days ago, received an email inviting me to do a study three days later and received a $5 Amazon gift certificate two days after that. I am jazzed. My favorite site is PINECONE hands down because they send checks!! I have received several products to review for them over the last year, too.

I started in Survey Spot in June of this year and already have made about 100.00 so the idea that there is no money to be made right off isnt true.. its about your demographics and lifestyles as well as family. I disagree on not doing the smaller surveys that dont initally offer money... on several of them that were to be for sweeps entries only I ended up getting in on a PT and sometimes another survey that paid the 2nd time.. had one like that actually in July... paid 0.00 for the small 10 min. sweeps survey and the 2nd follow up was 25.00 for a 45 min.

If anyone is interested in Survey Spot.. you really have to use your own judgement and take into consideration what age category you and your family are in.. there are a lot of ifs but there IS money to be made with SS and they do pay.. I have gotten 4 checks from them since I started in June, has so far been my personal best paying site.. but it may not be for the next person.

GLA!!! :D

I have to agree- I have gotten $60 some from them with only being a member for a few months now. I do ALL the surveys they send me. It DOES show that you are a willing participant and there for they send you more. I also agree that it depends on your demographics as well. Having children seems to help- my mom had signed up for this too and she doesn't get nearly the same amount of survey invites as I do. Just stick with them- IT DOES PAY OFF!!!

Pinecone banners show up on various web sites, and only when they recruit for there site, so I don't think anyone can refer you to a site that you will find the banner, and you cannot sign up at the site, as you probably know, I have been using My Survey for many years, and they pay for surveys, when you have 1,000 points you can cash it in for $10.00, it has been around for many years and they notify you when they have surveys for you! Goodluck and welcome to SS forums.

I participated in surveys via snail mail for over twelve years and online for over nine years now. In the past three days, though, I've run across two surveys sent from a large survey company that I've worked with several months that send my virus and spyware software warning systems into full alert. The virus software program warning system tells me that the sites have been involved in phishing scams. There isn't a survey out there worth risking a virus or phishing scam--I close the browser immediately and run my virus and spyware programs again just to be safe. Is anyone else experiencing this warning when opening some surveys? :(

I agree so survey or sample is worth a virus!

Three SurveySpot surveys so far--one with a big FIVE DOLLAR survey in the subject line, one new car survey, and early this morning, one from the survey search page for home improvement. It's only from one of the many survey companies from which SurveySpot sends out surveys so far as I can tell, but I never go to the page to find out once I receive the virus/spyware/phishing website warning--I catch a "confirmit" in the web address just before my virus/spyware software starts sending up the rockets, but I'm not certain that is the company's name--it could just be another command in reference to the e-mail address or the key for the survey. I'm not having any problems with Ipsos, Vovici, Burke, or any of the other companies from which SurveySpot sends surveys, any of the Zoompanel surveys, any Synovate surveys, any manufacturer panel surveys, or any other surveys. I have been making a note of the six digit survey numbers every time now, so I can send it to SurveySpot the next time it happens.

Boy, somehow someone got your email addy I think, anyways better to be safe then sorry for doing a survey that could cost you $$, there are scams everywhere, so it is scary and you have to be careful 24/7...I belong to that site too, but havent had anything lately...but thanks for the heads up!!

Definitely a good reason to only use web-based e-mail; keep more than one e-mail account for different things; never actually download e-mail to your computer; keep your virus and spyware software updated; use the firewall; stay away from IM; and anything else you can do to keep the scammers away. Gave a Frogpond recommended website low points specifically because you had to lower your security settings to rock bottom to even access the website--nothing that website or any survey offers is worth a virus or spyware. Very glad that the virus and spyware software works!--I use a program that I pay for, but AVG I believe offers it for free--downloaded that for a friend, as they are actually still running on long-in-the-tooth Windows 98, and so many other virus and spyware prevention programs won't run on their dinosaur. I highly recommend Kim Komando's computer website--she can clue you in on many good free programs and also help you out with computer problems. Kim Komando also appears on her radio show in several markets (WLS Chicago I know of for certain). She recommends some really good free programs for virus and spyware protection/removal. Here's the link to her website:

This is strange to me since I am a member of SurveySpot for 6 months now and I just got a new puter with VERY good spyware and anti-virus protection installed(cost me a pretty penny) and I have NEVER had my alerts go off for ANY survey linked from SurveySpot. I do not think it is SurveySpot at all. I have made a lot of money from them. Never ever had a problem occur. Strange.

In the past 4 days I have done 3 $5 surveys through them along with and auto one and a cereal product testing one for I think $10. Didn't get any alerts either.

They send you emails called BonusMail. You click on the link and go to the site and get 5 points. They will also send you surveys for extra points. If you go buy anything on line through the site you get a certain amount of points per dollar spent. The other day I was looking for something for my daughter and they had it at Toys R Us. So I went to the MyPoints site and went to Toys R Us. I earned extra points for something I was going to buy anyway. You don't have to worry about not being able to redeem your points for something you like. They have TONS of choices. I have been collecting points for a few years and it is mostly 5 points at a time, because I don't shop online much. I have over 23,000 points! 5 points at a time doesn't sound like much, but considering that all you have to do is click on the link, let the page come up and then close it, it only takes about 5 seconds. You do not have to browse the site or anything.
One suggestion-when you fill out your initial likes and dislikes when you start with them--just remember to like and be interested in EVERYTHING!! The more interests you check off, the more BonusMail you will get!!

MyPoints, is by far, the best "paid to read" program out there. That is pretty much what it is. Paid to read and paid for action. There are free things you can do with MyPoints, occasional contests for points and stuff like that. You can get points for shopping eBay and other top sites. It is great, and there is always a link in the email to opt out of mails altogether, or just that specific type of email, but for 5 points per mail, why would anyone want to? I have been a member since 1998, and have cashed out many times, for a total of well over 35000 points, and am trying to figure out which site to cash out to now, just in time for Christmas! LOL! I just can't seem to save my points up for anything big. I always want the $25 gc for Barns & Noble or now they have Amazon also.

I love My Points too. I only have two complaints. They send me the survey e-mails, and I never qualify. I have spent 20 minutes answering their darn questions before, only to be told I didn't qualify. Huh? Here I thought I was taking the darn survey, and I was still answering questions to see if I qualified? Annoying! I've asked them to stop sending them to me, but I still get them.

Actually, this is not a complaint really. We are getting something for free, after all. But, it seems like it's taking more and more points to get stuff. $25 Target gift cards are up to 3750 points, I believe! Therefore, the second I get enough points saved up, I redeem them.

I too am a MyPoints veteran. I'm a gas card junkie-so every time I save up 7250 points I get a $50 Shell card. I just cashed in points for one last week.
They used to have Dave and Buster's cards too-I got about 3 or 4 of them before they were no longer available. Anyway, between the emails, surveys (I usually don't qualify either but hey-it's 10 points!) and points for ITunes downloads and EBay, the points add up pretty fast. :p

I just signed up for MyPoints the other day. Maybe I'm just a tad slow when it comes to sites like that, but I can't seem to make much at all. I don't do their offers because most of them require a credit card or some form of committment and I just don't have that kind of money. I read the emails and try for surveys, I already have an Ebay account and I'm already a Netflix and Fastweb member. So, how do I get anywhere with them? My friends would sooner kill me than sign use the refer. They already think I'm nuts with this stuff. I use Cash Crate and Fusion Cash too, same deal. Am I doing something wrong?

I very rarely sign up for any of the offers. I get my points one email at a time with surveys in between. I find that most of my fast points come from EBay, ITunes and Blair. If you go to the merchants once you sign in and click on them, thenh it will lead you to a window for the merchant that reports the amounts spent to MyPoints. For example, I go to Apple ITunes and let MyPoints open ITunes for me, and then I download what my son wants. This gives me 2 points per dollar. Same with EBay. Go through the MyPoints link and then sign in and do your bidding as usual. Then MyPoints gives 2-4 points per dollar (before shipping) depending on if they are running an EBay promo or not. :p

I have been a member of MyPoints since April of 1998. Wow. Almost 10 years. LOL! I just realized that. I have taken a break due to no computer at times, since in 98 they were a little more expensive than they are now, and no where as easy to care for. But since my current account was opened, I have earned a lifetime total of almost 39000 Points. I usually only click the link that tells you to click for the 5 points, but I also shop on eBay, and I will go through MyPoints to shop other retailers because you get points for that. So that adds to your account. I also have all the options ticked, including things i have NO interest in, because they still give points for clicking the email.

So check out the site, pay attention to the shopping specials, click every 5 point email that they send and let your points build. It really won't take that long before you can cash out. The hardest thing is going to be trying to decide what you want to cash out for!

I have been a member of MyPoints since April of 1998. Wow. Almost 10 years. LOL! I just realized that. But since my current account was opened, I have earned a lifetime total of almost 39000 Points. Is there a spot on the MyPoints site that says your lifetime points? I know MySurvey has it.
If I think about what it cost for all the gift cards I've gotten from them, it probably is around 32,000 or so...mostly one click at time with some EBay, ITunes, and retail purchases in between!

Lots of folks have asked about joining Pinecone...now you can!!! Here is the info......

Dear CHERIE:

PineCone Research is ready to grow and we need your help!

If you have ever told a friend about doing surveys for PineCone Research, it is likely that they have asked, "How can I join?"

Well, now you can tell them how to become part of this elite group of households. We are offering select members the opportunity to recommend membership to a friend or relative who is NOT a member of their household.

Do you know of households that would like to join the PineCone Research Panel? If so, please FORWARD A COPY of this email to each household you would like to refer so that they may click on the registration link shown below. That household should complete the registration form themselves and submit it. REMEMBER THAT ONLY ONE PERSON PER HOUSEHOLD MAY REGISTER. Multiple registrations of the same Household will void all registrations.

Here is the link to the registration:

As a member in good standing, you've already seen the benefits of being part of PineCone Research. So please, share the benefits of membership with a friend. Just don't forget, please don't tell them about any of the products that you have seen in our questionnaires or tried in your home. Remember, it's important that your PineCone Research survey and product testing experiences remain confidential.

If your referral has any questions, they can email us at scott@pineconeresearch.com or click on the attached links to learn more about PineCone Research.

Sorry I took so long getting to this, I tend to forget to come here at times...duh...I can be such a ditz LOL!

On MyPoints to find your lifetime points, log into "My Account" and on the right hand side, under "Tips and Tricks" will be your pending and lifetime accumulated points balances, it also shows how many pending points you have.
