Models: BMW 2007 Alpina B7
Number affected: 450
Issue: Certain 2007 model year Alpina B7 vehicles have a software error that causes certain diagnostics within the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system to function improperly. The diagnostics of the thermostat, the Mass Airf Flow (MAF) sensor, the radiator outlet temperature sensor, and the inlet air temperature sensor do not work correctly. Therefore, malfunctions of these components will not be detected as required.
Remedy: BMW service centers will reprogram the Engine Control Module (ECM) in these vehicles with an improved version of the software.
