We have a ton of illegal fireworks to set off. I am sure we will cook out or something, but I will be enjoying my 6 day weekend!

Right now we have no plans to go anywhere, but I am sure I will be BBQing something, maybe rotisserie a Prime Rib. We are not allowed any fireworks up here in the mountains, and anyone caught with any go right to jail along with a huge fine, but we have the best fireworks display over the lake every year. I miss sparklers!! I remember having them when I was a kid.

DH will be on the oil rig again this year, so it's just me and the boys. We'll probably have a little bbq here for the 3 of us and then we go to Ft. Gordon (army base here) for fireworks. The boys love getting to see all the soldiers, and I get to teach them about how brave and important the soldiers are. It doesn't hurt either that the soldiers are some nice eye candy to go along with the fireworks! :D

It sounds like everyone has plans for fun & relaxation! Think of me & DH & DD when you watch your fireworks! We'll be part of the crew working on our city's fireworks display!
For those who are shooting their own fireworks, click the link in my siggy for some good safety tips. My cardinal rules for consumer fireworks are: safety glasses (you only have 1 set of eyeballs) and (fireworks contain sulfur. sulfur + tears = mild sulfuric acid = ouch),
proper cotton clothing (nylon & polyester melt & burn into your skin),
age-appropriateness (would you let your toddler play with kitchen matches? no? then don't let them handle sparklers either) & proper adult supervision if younglings are handling fireworks,
and no alcohol for the shooters until they're done with the fireworks.
Have fun & be safe everyone!

I wish I was there. We'd have fun!
Since hubby is so anti-social, we will be spending another holiday alone. We'll probably do what Shelley does; minus the eye candy, of course! Drats!

Not sure if we will have a BBQ this year or be attending one. It's illegal to have fireworks in the the city I live in, but legal in a neighboring city.
We usually watch the fireworks at the Fair Grounds from our back yard, then drive the the Maverick's Stadium (Minor league baseball team) and watch their firework show.
I heard on the news yesterday, there may be a ban on ALL fireworks this year for the entire state of CA since there are over 840 fires burning right now, most of which are in Northern CA.
Whatever you all do, please stay safe AND have FUN!!!!

Wish I would have seen this earlier. We live about 1/4 out gate 2. I would have come up and hung out the eye candy, um, I mean you and the kids!
;) LOL
We went to our town's annual BBQ at noon today...FREE FOOD. :D
Mom and DH are napping now so they will be awake when I put on the firework show tonight.
HAPPY 4th!!
