Hi Everyone,
I know I have been MIA from the forum for awhile, I have been really busy with the babies. Plus we all came down with a nasty flu that lingers!
On Friday I FINALLY got a call back from the endocrinologist office about my blood work I had done on my thyroid back in April. All of it came back normal but the Dr wants me to have a biopsy on the nodules on my thyroid to rule out cancer! The referral was sent out Friday. I should hear back in 1-2 weeks then be able to schedule to have the biopsy done. I won't know the results for 3-4 weeks after that.
I am asking for your prayers for good results. I have a family history of thyroid cancer, so I a bit unnerved.
Thank!! Ya'll are the best!!!
Hugs,
Mae

I'm sure the doctor is just doing precautionary testing because of the family history, since all the bloodwork was good. HUGS!! I will pray for you all the same and then some, 'cause prayers never hurt and can only add to the richness in your life. ;) Love ya, Sis.

Boy, Mae. I'm going to have to wrangle your phone number out of you or something! You are just worrying me to death not updating us! I know, I worry. I'm pretty good at though and I'd hate to try to deny a God-given talent and all. lol

Thank you ALL for your kinds words, thoughts, and most of all prayers!!!
I'm sorry Lynne, for not keeping you all updated. We have been going through a vicious cycle of the flu. Get rid of it or at least we think we have for a couple of days, then sick again!! UGH!!! Windows are all open, and Lysol has been sprayed throughout the house!
I haven't received my referral yet, so that's it for an update.
Hugs & Love to you all,
Mae

Hope you beat the heck out of that flu and scared it away for good! Don't forget to make sure if you have a wastebasket in the restroom to empty it A LOT when you or your family is sick. All the nose-blown tissues that can accumulate just keep everyone getting sick over and over.
I'm glad you all are better!!! Were the little boys sick, too? Bless all ya'alls hearts!! HUGS!!!!

Hi Carol,
Thanks for asking! I'm hanging in there. I go on Tuesday to have a biopsy on my thyroid. I posted it in this thread My Apponntment (http://forums.startsampling.com/showthread.php?t=17075&page=2)
I've been so busy with the babies that I rarely have computer time. Usually at night but I'm too tired to get online!!

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! My family has a history of this also, but I have never thought about it. I am sure that with all these prayers, no matter what the results say, you will be ok. I know its hard, but try not to stress it.:o

Thank you ALL so much for your prayers, thoughts, and well wishes.
Nancy, I hope you have a WONDERFUL time at the beach, sounds like so much fun!!
I had the biopsy yesterday morning. The Dr did it with a local anesthetic. He didn't want to put me under general because my blood pressure was very high!! First time it was taken it was 213/98, the nurse said she thought there was something wrong with the cuff, she got another one and it was 176/100 and stayed there the whole time I was in the hospital. I think it was high because I did not sleep well the night before, and I was stressing about having the procedure done.
The procedure took about 20 minutes to do. It felt like a lot of pressure, like when you go to the dentist. They did find one "hot spot" yesterday during the biopsy and collected cells from it to be tested. Both of my Dr's should have the results in 2 weeks.
I was put on bed rest yesterday, had to lay on my right side all day, I cannot turn my head to the left for 2 days, I had to keep an icepack on my neck yesterday, have keep the incision covered with a bandaid for 4-5 days, and was told NO lifting of anything for 2-3 days.
The Dr and nurse asked me if I was in any pain before I left and I said no. Dr asked if I wanted any pain medication before I left, and a prescription for one and I said I don't think I will need it. He said OK, you can take Tylenol if you need to but ONLY Tylenol, since Motrin, Advil, and Aspirin can cause you to bleed internally. I've really had no pain, I just feel sore, kinda like a sore throat sore when you swallow.
Eileen (the nurse who was with me during the procedure) called me this morning to see how I was feeling and if I was in any pain. I told her I was feeling fine, and not in any pain just a little sore. She said, "Oh my honey you are such a trooper!"
LOL... right now one of the triage nurses called to see how I am doing.
As soon as I know the results I'll let you all know.
Once again, thank you all for your support, prayers and kind words.
Hugs,
Mae

Mae,
It is so good to hear from you! We were all praying for you, and hopefully you will get the results back sooner than the 2 weeks!
I'm glad you aren't in pain, and that the doctor and nurses were nice. Make sure you listen to their advice for taking it easy!

Mae, I'm glad you had minimal pain with the biopsy procedure. I'm praying the results come back negative, & your life will soon be back to "normal". In the meantime take advantage of the "I need to rest" & let yourself be spoiled by your family. ;)

Thank you all once again for your prayers and well wishes. I have been taking it easy.
I called my primary Dr and made a follow-up appt. I can't get in to see her until Aug 28!! Her nurse told me if there are ANY cancellations before that date she has that appt flagged for me and will call and offer it to me.
Thanks again ladies!

Well... after starting this process almost 1 year ago I should have the results of my thyroid biopsy on Monday!
I'm so sick of all the garbage and waiting for referrals from our HMO to be approved! The last referral took over a month to get approved!
I'll post what my results are.
Thank for all once again for your prayers.

Mae, I just have a feeling everything is ok. If that doctor made you wait 2 weeks for any bad news I am coming down there and hurt that doctor so bad he will need a doctor to repair his personal parts.
I'm praying for the very best outcome. Hugs.
