I just found out last night that I'm pregnant. :D However, i'm learning that all things are possible with God. My body usually doesn't make the hormone that prevents a miscarriage, this is also the hormome that allows you to get pregnant and makes you sick every morning. That hormone is at the moment working just fine because I feel like I'm going to throw up at any strong smell. IT's kind of scary because the first go around I was on hormones and clomid and metformin. And i kind of feel like I'm walking on eggshells waiting out the first trimester. IF i'm right my due date is feb 21, my first dr appt is July 7 and if ya'll send up a few prayers that everything goes okay I'll be very greatful.

Amanda, first off congrats on your news! How exciting. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you. I will keep you in my prayers.
How long ago did you have your last baby? Hopefully lots of things have changed and there will be new ways or meds to help you out!

My first and LAST pregnancy was 24 hour nausea for 9 months straight. No matter the amount of **** phenergan, Phenergan shot, or Zofran would do anything. When I think about it now, I get nauseated! I do not want to do that again but the sweet baby girl I got out of it was worth it! Good luck in your pregnancy!

First, can we rub your belly when the baby's kicking? :D I'll keep you both and all of your family in my prayers! You know, that's a nice space between the ages! There's roughly 3 years between most of mine and they get along well (except for the 10 & 13 yr old time spans! lol).

Thanks Ladies.... I'm really really sick to my stomach and that's a very reassuring thing. It means that my hormones are working :D . So I'll hug my toliet with a smile on my face. We thought that bryson our son was going to be our only child, but it's looking like God had other plans. It's amazing what he can do that we can't do ourselves. I can't wait till my first dr appt. But I have the funny feeling that he's going to fuss at me for already gaining weight :( . Oh well

Went to the Dr monday, everything is looking good. Well almost everything. My sugar is bouncing around litterally. I'm already taking metformin and now i'm sticking my self 4 times a day, to keep up with everything. The baby's heartbeat is already going strong and my due date is Feb 18th. I'll have to have a c-section again. I was hoping for a more traditional birth this go around, but the dr i chose will not do a vag*nal birth after a c-section. Anyone got any breakfast ideas? I can no longer have cereal or oatmeal and I'm not a big egg fan?? Next appt is the 18th.

Congradulations....i read your update and i know it is always reasuring to hear the babies heartbeat. Just take everything easy and don't stress over the shots. I had to take blood thinners at 2 shots a day after while they become a part of your life and you don't even think about them anymore, you just do it. Your and your entire family are in my prayers. God does work in our lives, just remember its in his time not ours.

First of all Congratulations!!! :D No, wonder you were looking for maternity clothes/catalogs... Will be sending positive prayers and thoughts your way! Does everyone I talk to live in TN? Ok as for breakfast- being the old L&D nurse you tell me what you like and we can work it from there! PM me if you want and let me know wher your sugars have been...do you count your carbs or just eye ball what you are supposed to eat? Everyone does this differently.

What did the doctor say Friday...looks like alot of us went to the doctor on Friday..me included!
Everything OK?

PM me about breakfast...since my wrist/arm has been hurting- long story!

Congrats again!
Nancy :)

Please don't stress about your weight or if your eating enough, I find too many new mothers these days do...when I was prego I also had very bad morning sickness and really could not eat until the afternoon, but then i ate as much as i could when I felt like it...sick with crackers and try to eat some before bed and keep them by bedside...I didn't start gaining weight till about 3 months and then I gained almost 50lbs and had a 9lb baby!! you will get through this!:) (ps I also ate a lot of frozen soft baked pretzels as a yummy alternative to crackers and bread)

HI Ladies... thanks for all the wonderful thoughts and prayers. I'm still working out a few kinks in my diet, but so far so good. My AC1 level came back down to normal and they are going to keep me on metformin the entire pregnancy and after. Thats a little different this go around, when I was pregnant with my son I had to quit the metformin during the second trimester. It also means no breastfeeding, feeling a little guilty about that, but I'll do whatever to get my child here safe and keep me healthy. I go back to the Dr in 3 weeks for another ultrasound and check up. And by the way I lost yet another 5lbs, in 2 weeks. The dr said not to worry and continue eating healthy. So I'm just trying to eat and eat.:) Now if my stomach will only help with that.

Don't feel guilty about that at all. Alot of babies grow up healthy using formula (my son and even myself, included). You are following Dr's orders, which is what you should be doing. I hope that your pregnancy goes smoothly from here on out and I wish you well :).

Sending prayers..

As far as breakfast....
The simple thing that most people forget about eating breakfast is that it doesn't have to be traditional breakfast food. It's just a meal like any other. Just pick anything that sounds good to you out of what you are able to have.
I got soooo sick of eggs for breakfast when I was doing a low/no carb diet. Then I was like duh!!:o Who says I have to eat eggs??? It's not so traditional everywhere...you should see what they eat for breakfast in Japan!!!

Well..., mainly good news. I've lost 4lbs...not so good news, but they told me not to be too concerned as long as i'm eating. And I'm eating alot!!!! This child is very active, he was all over the place. We only managed to get a couple of pics because he kept squarming around. I'm only 12 weeks but they are pretty sure that it's another boy. He made sure to show off his stuff  That was 2 of the pics. They explained that girls are formed slightly different at this stage and they usually don't get that good of a pic of everything. Thats about all he wanted to show us that and his rear end. Already got an attitude:D With my sugar they aren't too concerned because my A1C levels are still down and my fasting levels are still below 100. Even though some of my after meals are over 140 :( , just stick to the diet they tell me. But so far so good for both me and baby. Thanks ladies for all the great thoughts and prayers, I'll be back to the dr in 4 weeks.

Happy for the good news Amanda! Any of the breakfast foods I sent you helped at all or should I look for something else (or are you still trying the 'list')...as the OB nurse in me would say "Don't worry about those 4 pounds the baby is just taking that out of you for his OWN use!" ;) Believe me you will start to gain. LOL

Always thinking about you and sending you positive thoughts and prayers!

Breakfast is going good, so far. I'm branching out alittle more. I've learned celery and peanut butter first thing in the morning works good!!! And about and hour later I can eat Cheerios and milk and still keep a stable sugar reading!!! One of the nurses today told me not to worry about my weight that she'd seen women lose weight their entire pregnancy, especially ones coming into the pregnancy diabetic and getting stricter on their diets. But last time around I didn't gain a pound till the last month then I gain 30 mostly fluid in the last 2 weeks, but I never lost any weight either. The human body is a very strange thing.

Ibeapoet, congratulations on your baby boy! I am diabetic (not pregnant!) and enjoy cereal. I eat low carb Special K. At first it is not very good but you aquire a taste for it. I remember many years ago when I was pregnant I was so hungry I could have eaten cardboard with milk or water! I try to watch my carbs now and this is the only cereal I can eat. You have to really read the labels to make sure you get the right one. Good luck.
