I love this site! I have been lurking and looking for a couple of weeks now and am brave enough to post an intro.

My name is Robin
I run an afterschool program for 120 kids in So Cal and have a REAL SKIMPY budget so I am always on the lookout for ideas for teachers as well as the sample freebie lover inside of me.

thanks for the warm welcome and the info on tie dye shirts. That may be lots of fun for the *graduating* 5th grade class, I could disguise it as science even!

You can also use left over dye from easter eggs or the little packaged dyes in the spice dept at the store, just add some vinegar as Lynne suggested so it will set the color, 5th graders would enjoy this I would think.
You must have nerves of steel to deal with a huge bunch of kids like that, god bless you!!

Do you know the Dr. Seuss story "Bartholomew and the Oobleck"? We used to make that stuff that's not a liquid and not a solid with corn starch and water and we always called it Oobleck from that story! :)

Welcome to the group!! you will find lots of useful ideas and and tons of free samples. The samples are great but the chuckles I get from reading some of the post are the best part of this forum! Earlier this evening I started laughing and DH said must have been a good day in the forum. I said it always is! :)
