I just got a call from Allison, and she is at the hospital right now with both her sons. They have been very sick with vomiting and diahrrea, and now, dehydration. I think fever, too, because she said they'd been experiencing hallucinations. They've taken a lot of blood from the boys to run tests to see if they can find out what is causing the illness.
I just love these 2 boys. They are so sweet and so loving and fun! When you meet them, it's like they just jump right into your heart and cuddle in. This is breaking my heart. Please say prayers or send happy thoughts, light a candle, or make a plead in whatever way your belief system calls for. Thanks. Lynne

Spoke with Allison briefly just now. After 8 hours at the hospital, they are home for now. The hospital wants a stool sample, but after all that's gone on, there hasn't been anything for the boys to give now. They sent all the collection supplies home with them. They think it MAY be something (the word was unfamiliar) to do with spoors from places like nursing homes. Does anyone know what I'm trying to refer to? Anyway, that has what seem to be the same symptoms, and they have been to see Allison's grandma, so it's a possibility. But, nothing is certain at all right now. Please continue prayers, etc! Thanks so much!

This is so sad. I hope they find out what is wrong so the poor boys don't feel all that pain. Thanks for letting us know.

Escherichia coli or Salmonella maybe? Sorry, I'm a clinical lab geek. Positive thoughts & prayers are on their way for all.

It was something that sort of sounded like the word "seeds"?? Does that bring anything to mind?? I thought about having her spell it, but it just really wasn't the time. That poor girl! She was apologizing to me for not being able to get back to me because the kids being sick! Bless her heart! I hope God blesses her more and more, but in ways that will have impact and be noticible in her life. That poor baby needs a few good breaks in life so that she can see that her struggles are getting her somewhere, and it's not all so very hard all the time. She really deserves to be happier and in better circumstances. I wish I could do something. :(

I think that praying and asking others to do the same is doing something, but I know what you mean!!

Praying for someone is kinda like delegating the work load to the Lord. But, I guess when we do that, we put it in the most capable hands. So for now I'll just keep pestering Him about the situation and about how deserving Allison, Jeremiah and Josiah are. I know He hears us. :o

True, but you've put it out there for others to pray, and the more people praying for them, the more HE hears it!!! :)

PLEASE GOD, GIVE HER A BREAK!!!:o
They say he doesn't give us more than we can handle, so He must be testing the limits.
Hang in there Allison! I'm sorry it's so tough for you right now:(
Hugs, prayers, kleenex, and sweet restful dreams are on order;)

I forgot about that part. Yeah, it's true. I think part of that is to show us that we are a lot stronger than we ever imagined we could be in times of hardship and sorrow. And when you feel like NO ONE else knows how it feels to hurt so much or be in such a bad situation, then is the time to remember that when Jesus bled from his pores it was because he was feeling the pain and suffering of the whole world - past, present, and future, so he knows EXACTLY what we are going thru (and then some!) and He knows how we feel, even when no one does. We really don't ever have to feel alone or weak or isolated because we all have a big brother who knows us, loves us, understands us, and will do all that is good for us that He is able to do when we ask and let Him.
Thanks for that reminder, Dawn! I needed it, too! HUGS!!
Hang in there, Allison! We are all with you in our hearts and prayers!

I was thinking about this thread earlier and that I should give everyone an update, so thanks so much Becky for prompting me to "Just Do It"! Kinda glad I didn't have to go look for the thread tho, too! :p
The boys are doing really well now! Yay!! All the dr.s came up with was that it was probably a "virus" or some crap they charge you a fortune for just so you can be as in the dark as they are.
I didn't ask about mentioning this, but I guess I will just say it so that if anyone wants to add some prayers they can. Allison might be getting a place! :D I'm saying prayers for them and hoping it all works out great! It can be kinda awkward/stressful if you are a parent yourself, and you're living with family. I know I did my 6 mo. stint at my mom & step-dad's. :o:p

Thanks Lynne, for the update. Still praying for Allison and the family! :D
I too, (at the time I was pregnant with Rachel) as well as DH, Danielle, and Richard lived with my parents for a couple of months while our house was being built. I LOVED my parents, BUT..... WOW what an eye opener after begin "out of the house" for years! They let Danie and Richard get away with EVERYTHING, and got upset at Dave and I if we DARED to think of correcting them in "their house!" I know now, that's all a part of being a Grandparent, well sort of. I don't let Dylan get away with too much, but Grandpa sure does!!! Dylan's such a little stinker and does things just to get you mad...LMAO!! I guess it's a good thing he's so darn cute! He's not even 2, but will be on the 17th!!! Lord, help ME!!! LOL!!
Hugs,
Mae

Oh, Mae - God bless! He sounds like my Luke (13 now and all manly! lol) he hit the "terrible twos" at about a 1 1/2 and didn't leave them til he was almost 5! LOL Lots of memories to laugh about from those days! :D (Sure wasn't funny at the time tho! lol)
