Does anyone here do this for exercise? If so, have you noticed a difference in your waistline?
Weighted or nonweighted?

Someone suggested doing this since I can't do sit ups to save my life....I've been looking around at different websites, sounds like they'd work.

A really good friend of mine has one. She swears by it. Her son's preschool teacher 2 years a go got her into it. She's been ahving a hard time for 5 yers loosing hte baby weight from her daughter. It hasn't really help her loose the weight. It has toned her and you would never think she needot loose even a half a pound. I have found a web site the tells you how to make your own. http://www.jasonunbound.com/hoops.html
The shipping is what kills you on all the site Ive found. I need to get hubby to make me one.

it's funny this topic came up because last week a lady was just telling me about how the hula hoop is good exercise for women because their hips are where the extra luggage is and I am seriously thinking of getting one.it'll probably take me a while to actually be able to get it going...but why not!? if it doesn't work at least you'll get some good laughs out of it!!:D

I know this thread is a bit older but I wanted to mention that I have a weighted hula hoop I got from a gym similar to Curves. It only weighs about 4lbs I think but it is enough. They say you can loose inches in 2 weeks. I never have been able to hula hoop but I can use this one and keep it up. Just follow the instructions and start off with a couple minutes at a time or you will have bruises around your waist, I didn't follow the instructions. LOL. But it really is only suppose to take 10 minutes a day. Good luck!!

Wow...that's fantastic! Although I don't know if I could not eat red meat...I really like steak, I especially like it when I think my body is craving protein. I give you props for sticking to your plan...that's really wonderful and I bet you feel soooooooooo much better.[COLOR="Magenta"]I lost over 150 lbs in 3 years, buy doing the hula hoop & exersize and soy milk,& no red meat, I have keep it off as well :)

These are like the one I have. And it really is easier than you think. I've never been able to keep one up but I can with this one with no problems. :-)
Due a search on sports hoops. I can't post a URL yet. :-(

Good luck. I really like mine. I found a few video's on YouTube that showed doing squats and lunges while hula hooping. I tried it today and I think I got more workout from laughing at myself than actually hula hooping. lol. And my daughter got a kick out of it. :-) I may have to stick with the normal way and not do the squats. lol

Love the hula hoop. I use a small childs ( the smaller the hoop the harder it is to keep up), with in 2 weeks I started getting 6 pack abs!
