The sad thing is....I LOVE to walk but I guess I'm too lazy. :( We have a bike trail right behind out apartment and we still don't go! . It goes pretty much all throughout Lincoln. I've decided that I'm putting that near the top of my priorities list! I just need a walking buddy I think. That's how I started going to the gym before we moved to Nebraska.

I try to walk a few times a week in my town, it takes me 15 min to get around the town that is one mile. And when ever I can get in there I walk on my tread mill. I love to walk, but I hate to get hot!@!

I get bored, so I only walk when I have someone to walk with. Usually, it's with my friend, Tracy. :)

Ive been walking on the teadmill 2x a week at least for a mile or more .. hope I start to see some result at the gym though. My down fall .. I want to see results NOW. lol So, if I dont, I am scared I will give up .. I need a gym buddy .. or just someone to motivate me.:p

I did this a few months ago. Me and my friend joined a local gym a few months ago.We love it!! I also included my dh in my package for $10 more a month and now he goes.We are both seeing great results. They also have a tanning bed which I know is bad for you but I've been taking advantage of that anyway. :)

once the weather gets better we can start walking again . I think I need some good sneakers though any suggestions the $9.00 kmart sneaks are not cutting it anymore my feet are hurting all the time now.I need something with a good arch and that comes in a wide width.

Seth is going to join the gym at my college ($65 for 4 months!) and we are going to start going together along with one of my friends! I have two 5 mile walks coming up in April along with a 3k run with my dog at school in April. So I really need to start training, but my doc isn't giving me the go ahead quite yet until I go again next week to see him. Once he approves I will be in there 4-5 times a week to train and do a little weight lifting to help our my arms! Running is great though, we have a path across the street from my work, so me and another lady are going to start walking that once it gets warm!!

yesterday I had a terrible thing happen at the gym. I was on the tread mill doing my routine and I increased the incline and the machine got stuck. So I tried several times to get it to go down no luck.I unplugged it waited.....plugged it in no luck so then I seen a switch on the front. I tried that waited.... no luck.I felt horrible. When I got there today it was still in its same spot. I didn't abuse it in any way so I'm not sure what happen I just hope its fixable.

I walked my neighborhood today. Just trying to get some strength back, and I think it is working. I feel better (not as tired) since I walked. I think it has given me a burst of energy. :)

even just the fresh air will do wonders for you when you are tired And when you walk you get to notice things that you normally wouldn't driving of riding in a car.

Yes you do notice things. LOL I noticed my neighbor's dog that was in a fenced in yard wanted to jump that fence and get me. Next time I go for a walk, I am going to take mace or a ball bat just in case. He is a mean looking dog! I wish I could walk today too, but it is raining!

I find it relaxing too, sometimes DH goes with me, but usually it's just me and the dog. I feel much better in the mornings too when I walk the night before.

Y'all are so good! I have been biking (stationery) for about a month now. Haven't lost any pounds but I have lost inches, woo hoo, and wasn't too out of breath when we went rock climbing with our cousins last week. Now I just want to get rid of the dimples, ugh! (You know, the ones not on my face!)

I am currently with relatives right now. Near their home there is a nice trail and also it leads you to a 77 acre park that has a 3 mile trail and and 1.5 mile trail. Is really peaceful and beautiful. So right now I taking advantage of the nice weather. I am walking almost 5 five miles a day. Sometimes I just get lazy or the weather stops me from going out. I have runner's knee so unfortunately there has not being a lot of running. With knee pain or no knee pain I still try to get the most out of walking. Hopefully I will get in shape by this summer. :)

I walk several times a week, usually 2 miles. It is not a hard walk, some slight hills, but just enough to help me get my heart rate up. It also helps me control my diabetes without taking insulin. I take **** medication, walk and try to eat reasonably and so far it has worked for 10+ years. I feel much better when I walk.

I have been walking on my treadmill these past two weeks. I am up to 1.5 miles now and am chugging on. It has made a big difference as to how I feel for the rest of the day. I must sign off now because it is time to fire up the Nordic Track. Have a wonderful weekend.:):D

I love to walk. Combined with diet, I lost 45 pounds a couple of years ago. I was walking 4 to 5 miles a day. I had even increased part of that to a soft jog just so I could increase my heart rate. I have to tell you it is so soothing and great exercise. I also noticed my stamina had improved dramatically. Just wish I had a buddy to walk with. It always makes me a little nervous to go alone.

Happy Trails!

I love to walk! I've lost 60 lbs by walking and watching what I eat. I started off just walking on my 30 min lunch breaks. Then I started walking on my 15 min breaks and even going into work early to walk right before work. Most days I walk anywhere from 45 min to 1.5 hrs. I feel great!
