if you go to www.weatherbug.com you can get active weather alerts on your pc for free I love this site If there is a weather alert for your area the computer will chirp like a cricket! I have found the weather forecasts to be very reliable .

This is really cool! Thanks!
Note: For some reason, when you download it, it shows Colorado weather conditions. You just have to change the location by typing in your zip or city and state.

I had this on my old computer. It made everything really slow, and I got tons of spam an pop-ups from it. Not to mention, if you keep the sound turned on all the time it chirps every time there's a change.

I haven't noticed any slow down and you can silent the chirp and set hours and conditions that it's ok to chirp I'm sorry you didn't like the weather bug.

Oh well. I kept it for a day! It's one of those programs that comes on automatically when you restart. My puter was having difficulty starting up with it. Had to delete. Thanks for the post. It sounded good and was worth a try!:)
