Hi all!
We have one 5 year old girl in out immediate family. I have to grown boys 19 & 21 from a previous marriage.
She is like an only child in a lot of ways because of the age gap. They adore her she will never want for anything!!
Lets hear about your family!!

Hi!
We have an 8 1/2 month old daughter. We only planned on having one child, so she's it! :)

Well spoil her rotten!! I had only planned on the two boys but divorce then a man with no kids at 41. we decided we would have one and it would be a girl.WOW did I get lucky it was a girl. I think she costs me more than both my boys together.
HAVE A NICEDAY!! :)

Congratulations on your little girl (and your boys)! Sounds like your little girl has it made with two older brothers to watch over her.
It's funny, but I actually wanted a boy at first - just because I thought a boy would be less expensive and not as high maintenance. When I started looking at all the clothes and toys for little girls though, I changed my mind. I truly would have been happy with a boy or a girl, but I know my husband's happy she turned out to be a girl. She really is Daddy's Little Girl! Believe me, she is already spoiled! Fortunately, she's not old enough to know it yet though. LOL

So much easier with 3 helpers this time around LOl. I love them all and wouldnt trade them for the world (unless that world was made of chocolate JUST KIDDING). Your families all sound wonderful!

:) We have a 16 year-old daughter; had hoped for more kids, but it didn't happen. My husband and daughter go everywhere together: local race nights, classic car shows (to show off our '73 Dodge Challenger) and even the Daytona 500. They even hunt deer together.
I don't think they could be any closer if she HAD been a boy (like we originally expected).:)

I have been blessed with one of each!! I have a 13 yr old girl(now the trouble starts..lol) and a 6 yr old boy!!! The age gap is tricky.. he wants sissy to play and she'd rather be in her room listening to cds and drawing lol.

This so sounds like the way my dad and I were. I was an only child.
I always wanted 4 kids and hubby wanted 2. I tried to convince him that 3's in the middle but he's not going for it. Although I would still love to have more we aren't. Hubby says he's only paying for these 2. LOL, But until he gets fixed it could still happen (not that we're trying).
We have a son who will be 3 in June. And a daughter who was born this past Jaunuary. I guess since we're only having two we got lucky cause we have one of each.

I always said "NO MORE" after each one LOL! We have 5. People ask if we planned on having so many children, I reply to them " Oh yes i have always wanted to be bald from pulling my hair out, fat from eating everything they wouldnt, and use the word poopoo in everyday life."
On a serious note I do love my children dearly and now that I cant give them back i guess I will keep them (oh yeah I was supposed to be serious :p )

My husband and I have a list going of "What you never thought you would ever say". For example, " Can you please take your brothers head out of the dogs mouth?" or "Can you get the baby off the bookshelf?" one of my favs, "Why is the baby blue (as in colored on)?" That cat and dog have even had pedicures at one point. I should collect them all and post them sometime. lol

Thats to funny! I can definately relate especially with my first two who are boys. When I think about some of things they done while growing up! I think what gets me the most is now that they're grown up they thinks its funny on occassion to throw out something like Yeah mom we loved to drive the van around the yard when you dad was gone. We always wondered how you didn't see the skid marks in the yard. I did see them I thought it was from the 3 wheelers (back then it was 3 wheels not 4).
Another fave was the time one decided to hurl a quart jar full of ice water at his brother who moved and it went there there dads from window of his truck.Joe swore it wasn't his fault chris shouldn't have moved.
Its ok its just like my dad said to me someday you'll have kids! Now I know what he meant and someday soon my boys will to!
I have 4- 2 of each eldest two girls 19-16 the younger two boys 12-7
hubby wanted 6 but I said I would like to sleep through the night for awhile:)
No more here though... Got a 1 1/2 year old baby a Black Lab he thinks he's mine even though he belongs to my youngest daughter

Had one of those moments when I caught myself reprimanding 15-year-old daughter: "Quit running through the house with those antlers in your hands, you'll poke your eye out!" Her dad was preparing to mount her 6-point buck antlers on a trophy board.

Ok had another one of those "never thought I would ever say" moments.
My nine year old son was cleaning up the dog poop in the backyard and when he was finished he had it wrapped up in a plastic bag. Well to get it to the trash can he had to take it through the house from the back door to the front. On his way he decided to swing it around and try to get the dog to sniff it (he is a nine year old boy). I actually had to yelll "Dont play with the poop in the house!" Like I would let him play with it out of the house! LOL I cant believe i actually said that.

I AM SO GLAD IT DID NOT COME OUT OF THE BAG!! LOL I'm glad you both laughed, here is yet another one I actually said today:
The babies were outside playing in the dirt so I gave them giant serving spoons to dig with. Instead of digging the baby (one year) decided the dog was evil and began to "sword" fight him. I said "Dont impale (sp) the puppy please".

I actually had to pull the baby (18 month) out of the window sill! We have low window sills and he actually managed to climb up and stand in the window. Where was his supervision? some of you are screaming at the computer screen. Well I had to pee lol!! Babies are some of the fastest moving creatures on this planet!!

The other day at the park me and a friend was talking about this thread and things you never thought you'd hear yourself or your kids say. All of a sudden she says oh like "MOM Allyson just bit my tongue" I started laughing and before I could ask she looked at me and said don't ask.I'm still not sure how she bit his tongue. But her reply was Ally please stop biting your brothers tongue!! LOL!

I'm the only child in our family, unless you count our adorable Pembroke Welsh Corgi. My parents tried for awhile to have another child, but my mom had br--st cancer and now she can't. I'm pushing for an adoptee, but they're not very interested. *shrug* Oh well... I guess I'll just have to wait for my own.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom! I hope that she is doing well now! My mom also had breast cancer and had one removed. She was much older when she got it and is doing great now.
Since you are wanting "siblings", how about volunteering with younger kids? There are lots of programs through local schools looking for people to help.

Congratulations on welcoming #4. Taking care of 3 children is a handfull but taking care of 4 is insanity.
I just had my 4th child in March.

my middle son is 2 (and gives new meaning to terrible 2's)
