View Full Version : Dire Need for Prayers!!!!

mood4amelody

This weekend I have to go to S. Missouri to take DA to see his daughter he hasn't seen in 9 years. Prayers that all goes well would be appreciated. BUT, there's more. I need some too, because DA is just AWFUL to travel with (even worse than in every day life if you can believe that!!) Last time we had to do something like this, we took a guy nearly to Oklahoma to retrieve his dog and his Harley. They had told him the dog was dead, then months later called and said they had "found" her. The Harley was secondary to the dog- isn't that sweet?? Anyway, DA at one point would not shut up. It was B!TCH, B!TCH, B!TCH, B!TCH, until I just cried because I couldn't take it any more (in front of our friend even!).

BUT, it gets even better... (NOT!) my Evil MIL is going, too! :( This may possibly turn out to be the worst weekend of my life!! (Not really, but I'm sure it will make the top 2.)

So, if I'm not back on Sunday night or Monday, I have either died from brain implosion or am sitting in some jail cell awaiting my appearance before the judge....

Oh Lynne...I'm sorry you are so stressed about this. I will have you in my prayers for sure. I know all too well about road trips with the MIL's:eek: . These days I try to take magazines, crossword puzzles, anything to keep me busy so I can justify not having conversation. If you have a dvd player or headphones that may help too. Then you can have a reason to be left alone. I wish you the best, hope it all goes well.

OMGosh hon.. I DO NOT envy you at all!!!!! Of course you'll be in my prayers!!! YOU have to try really hard NOT do do something that might land you in front of a judge. WE NEED you here!!!! How are we going to survive without you for the weekend????

Praying for safe traveling as well!!

Ear plugs, magazines and a case of cold beer for you....beer for the buzz and frequent stopping to go tinkle, and while in the bathroom a good scream at the top of your lungs.....reading to keep from speaking to either one of them, say you are studying for an exam on SS, and ear plugs for the "Sorry my ears have been plugged lately", must be a cold or something, good excuse for not joining in on the conversation....Prayers and huge hugs!!

I could (and actually probably will) develope a huge migraine and have to stay at the hotel and DA will have to ride with MIL and his step-dad!!! That would serve him right. He doesn't like them either.

Just noticed your post and prayer request. I indeed ask God for traveling mercies for you. I pray that He will keep you safe from all hurt, harm and danger. In the name of Jesus I pray that He will cover you with His blood. God is a good God ~ All the time! He knows your prayers before you can even utter a word from your mouth as well as the meditations of your heart.

Let go and let God, His mercy is everlasting and His truth endureth through all generations. :)

We made it safely to Sedalia! My "new" step-daughter, Amber is a beauty! Black hair and dark eyes. Looks just like my oldest step-daughter in face and build, but Skylynn has light eyes and red hair. All the girls have the same build, kinda short and pretty heavy set. The older one's have issues with self-esteem. Is that a hereditary thing? They both have home issues, too, though, so that might be the better part of it.

Only got to the point once where I told him if he didn't stop I was gonna drop him off and go home, so he would have to call his mommy to come pick him up! We got mixed up on the route twice. I haven't gotten my glasses fixed yet, and DA hasn't learned to navigate with his head up his @ss!

Tory got to come since we left late, so the little girls have had a great time swimming. I even went in with them for a while. I had to borrow Mara's one piece swimsuit, 'cause my "bikini body" is a thing of the past!

Sherry! You are just so sweet! I really appreciate everyone for their support and kindness! I know it probably sounded dorky to ask for prayers for this kind of situation. I think probably everyone here knows though that I am bi-polar, and so you all know when I'm happy, I'm ecstatic, etc. I was also diagnosed with (get this!) Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. At the time, there was a lot that had gone on in my life and a lot that was still going on, and the dr. told me I had that, and he looked at me (he just looked sad) and he said, "It's just like soldiers get after a war, but you're still in your war." But, that was 5 or 6 years ago, so things are better-ish. Anyway, my point is that because of stuff, it's like my emotions have been put under a slow drip of battery acid off and on. Drip a little, heal a little, drip a little, heal a little, and each time you have to re-heal, you can't recover as well as the time... So that's why I asked for prayers with the stress, in case anyone thought it was stupid or that I'm just a dork ('cause I'm much more than just a dork! lol).

The ride back went really smoothly. That was the best part. I think DA was relieved and happy. The way there was another matter entirely! lol We left and it was dark, with a big yellow moon in the sky. As we got into Missouri, though, it got really foggy! You could just see the lines for about 20 ft. ahead on the road. There was also road construction causing you to cross the median area and go to the opposite side and drive down their left lane, then later crossing back to the original 2 lane. On the second crossing back to our lanes, hubby looked up and just wigged. "Lynne, Lynne, Whoa!" So, I hit the brakes. He looked up and saw the guiding barricade at the last second and was thinking we were heading for it. lol

The rest of the way down was like this- we get misdirected, but he knows the way. Makes several frustrated noises. Next town, he tells me to stop for a map. B!tch about $7 map for 25 minutes. Get lost again, find way there.

Everyone seemed to be on "best behavior status" while Amber (my newly aquainted step-daughter :D ) was with us. I did kind of make a funny at breakfast with MIL and FIL there. Tory and Malley were eating at the counter with the bar stools, the rest of us were at the tables. At the buffet, they had all kinds of colored plates (nice dishes) and at our table everyone had picked up a blue plate, except me. Mine was green. I looked around and I said, "Boy, don't I feel out of place; everyone else has a blue plate." Then I said, "I would have dug around to get a blue one, too, but I didn't want to look like I was trying to hard." :p FIL laughed anyway.

But, that's about how it went, and I want to thank everyone for helping me keep my sanity! All my "real friends" are online here. I'm kinda a hermit. :o

Don't ever say you're sorry. Do you really realize how many people you are helping in the process of you expressing yourself ontop of not to mention how very Healthy it is to vent and talk about things. We all go through life -we all have good day's and bad days... Let's just pray for more good one's. LOL. So thank you from me to helping me open more and more. It really means alot. :p That was supposed to be hug and kiss and thank you but hey I don't see any little thingies for that one and we both know me and this computer are on a learning curve.. This kinda describes me as well. I am not a hermit, I am just really, really shy. I have a terrible time making "real-life" friends.

I see nothing wrong with venting or in asking others for support. I'm glad you felt like you could do that.

Chris, I would never of thought you as being shy, I am extremely shy, to the point of hating to talk on the phone, that part comes from my father though, he never allowed me to be myself, it was always, get off the phone, do this, do that. Believe me this is the most "talking" I have ever done in my life, even if it is typed. I am finally getting a lot braver in my old age, lol so move over girlfriends we can all be shy or whatever together, and believe me, I have learned so much from all of you, it is so nice to know others feel the same way about certain things, when you feel you are the only one, it is very comforting to know your not the only one! Hugs to you all!

I am the same way! I do not like to talk on the phone. When you're on the phone, you "have" to say something, LOL!

I am a bit better too. Last July, I got invited to my fitness instructor's wedding and shower. It was SO stressful for me. So stressful, I almost didn't go. I forced myself to, and I had a great time! I don't know why social situations stress me out so badly, but they do.

On the computer, you have a little time to think before you "say" anything. Also, you don't have to look anyone in the eye. That helps!

If you'll notice, neither one of us starts threads very often. It's because we're shy and we don't know what to say!

Hugs back!

I think it's cool that we all learn as we get to know each other that we find more common bonds with each other beside the freebies. We have various shared interests or similar characteristics or like humor, and on and on... I hope when feelings are hurt or strife comes along on the site that we can each keep in sight the things that unite us, and let go the occasional difference or slight that is bound to happen in most any group over one person. ;) Sometimes even just the one person... lol

I think it's cool that we all learn as we get to know each other that we find more common bonds with each other beside the freebies. We have various shared interests or similar characteristics or like humor, and on and on... I hope when feelings are hurt or strife comes along on the site that we can each keep in sight the things that unite us, and let go the occasional difference or slight that is bound to happen in most any group over one person. ;) Sometimes even just the one person... lol

Of course, Lynne. I've never heard of a perfect relationship. We all just have to keep working at it.

P.S. I am a bit peeved at my hubby as I type, LOL!

wow, I feel like we are in a recovery group! This is good girls! Everyone needs this kind of release every now and then. Sometimes it is good to just get somethings out and not be judged. Well we don't really know if we are being judged and that is ok with me if I don't know it, then I don't worry about it. I always feel like people are judging me and I hate it. I always worry about what others think and sometimes that drives me nuts!!

I can completely relate to that statement about being judged,it is a crappy feeling, but do not worry most people JUDGE others Wrong and out of fear themselves, its always easier to find a fault in someone else rather than ourselves;)

That would drive me crazy as well.

When I was a kid, I saw my parents constantly bring up old stuff and beat each other over the head with it, so it's not something I choose to do. We all make mistakes, we all occasionally slight others, we all snit, squabble, and fuss. It really is best to forgive and just let bygones be bygones. Especially when there's remorse involved.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been MIA. I've been dealing with some health issues and trying to get testing taken care of.

Lynne, don't feel you EVER have to apologize for venting!! We ALL need to vent!!

I too, was shy growing up. Still am in one sense or another. I don't mind talking on the phone as long as it is to someone I know personally and like...LOL! I don't mind being at social gatherings, but while attending one I seem to stick by someone that I have known for a long time.

Carol... BOY, our Dave's sure do sound alike!! I too, am forgiving, but not him. He holds a grudge thinking that others should see the light (his way)!!

I need to go get ready to go back to the hospital for the second part of my thyroid scan. I'll try to pop in more often.

I have missed ALL of you, and consider you ALL family!! :D

Thanks Rebecca, Carol, Mary, Lynne, and Chris.

I have been having issues with my gall bladder and thyroid. I had to have an ultrasound on both of them in Jan. The tests we actually ordered in Nov, but our stupid insurance company had my b-day and DH mixed up!! it literally took 2 months to clear it up!! FINALLY got the referral, and then noticed that the referral company had made the same mistake. Tried for 2 weeks to get that straightened out, never did so I went ahead and had them done.

Played phone tag with my Dr assistant for over 2 1/2 weeks to find out my results, (BTW I still don't know what they are!) and gave up. I called to make another appt to see her. When I was asked why I was coming in to see her I said my ultrasound results. She said if you want you can leave a message and someone will call you back today. I said NO THANKS!! I have left messages EVERY day for 2 1/2 weeks and NO ONE has called me back, I want an appt to see the DR!! I was then told at one time all 5 girls in the office were gone, blah, blah, blah. I said want an appointment, PLEASE! I HAD one for this past Monday, but 2 hours before my appt, I was called and told my Dr called in, she had the flu so I needed to be rescheduled. I go back on the 13.

A few hours later I was called by a new nurse and was told my Dr wanted me to see a Nuclear medical spe******t. I said Ok, for what?? She said,
We have been trying to get a hold of you for weeks now and never have been able to." I cut her off, rude I know, but... and said "EXCUSE ME?? NO ONE has called me!!! I have called for OVER 2 1/2 weeks trying to get my results and have NEVER been called back!! I have left voice mail messages on top of voice mail messages for her asst EVERY DAY and NEVER once was I called!!" She was silent and said, "Well Mae, Dr wants you to see a nuclear med spe******t and have a thyroid scan. She is sending in the referral and you should have the paperwork in 2 weeks." I said OK. Then she said, do you want to cancel your appt for Thursday the 13? I said NO!!!! She said Ok and hung up!

Let me warn you all now... you will ALL probably hear me about 11:15am PST on Thursday, March 13!!! Just thought I'd letcha know!! LOL!! I am going to tell my Dr how inept her staff is. If it wasn't for the fact the I LOVE this Dr, I would switch in a heartbeat!!

The hospital called me on Wed to set up the appt for the scan. I had the first 2 parts done yesterday and the 3rd this morning. My Dr will have my results when I go see her next week.

Sorry this is sooooo LONG!!

Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes!

*Oh yeah... guess what I got in the mail today?? My referral approval! LOL!*

God Bless you Mae! I understand the whole thing with the Insurance Co. I have Health Net and they are the same way!!

Thankfully you did get your tests done! You will continue to be in my prayers!! I don't blame you for feeling the way you do about the office help, I had the same problem with Dr. Pautz's office staff, he is the one who did my knee replacement (he is near St.Mary's) the guy in his office was so rude I would not let him take out my staples! and I let them know about it.

You can be just as long as you want!! anytime you feel the need to talk, I'm here!!

Thank you Carol and Michelle!

We have Cigna Choice 51+. It was NOT my first choice for health insurance but the rates were the best for our finances. I would LOVE to have either Blue Cross or PacifiCare again!

We have been going to Dr Kelly Ahmed since Amanda was 5 and she split her head open running in the house. She was a recent medical student graduate and she has THE BEST bedside manner! Even DH goes to her!

Last time she had problems with her staff, she fired ALL of them! Not sure what will happen this time, but I think she NEEDS to now that things are NOT being handled like they should be.

St. Mary's is where I had my scans done. The radiologist who did the first 2 parts yesterday was so nice! He told me that he wouldn't be there today, but said one of the other 2 would take good care of me...LOL! He looked a lot like our daughter Danielle's friend Kylie's Dad. I can't remember what her Dad's first name is. I asked Danielle and she couldn't remember either. Sadly, Danie has lost contact with Kylie.

I will more than likely have to have more tests on my gall bladder, but won't be able to for 4 weeks because of the radioactive pill I had to take yesterday. It was so funny, Keith the radiologist, asked me if I had planned on traveling by air in the next 2-4 days, I said no. He said Ok, just thought I'd ask since we would have to give you a letter to take with you when you travel. The pill you are about to take will set off the metal detectors! LOL!!

Michelle... YES, I do know what your Mom is going through!! I completely understand about how busy a Dr office is and how certain members of the staff might have more responsibilities than other, but come on! Why have all the tests done if no one is going to give you the results in a timely manner?

Mae, I have had tons of Xrays done at St. Mary's, I loved the radiologist I had numerous times, he was so kind and gentle, however this is the same hospital where I had my surgery, outside of the doctor who did my surgery, I had the worst nursing staff ever! they all were so rude, except for the nurse I had on the last day, I still remember her name because it is my dogs name, lol Angie, she was so nice, I let her know how rude the other nurses were, probably didn't do any good, but I felt better, lol

Mae, have you been feeling sick the last few weeks? I sure hope everything comes back good for you.

Rebecca... Not so much sick, I am tired ALL of the time, have NO energy, and have gained A LOT of weight the past few years, I'm talking over 60 lbs!! We didn't have medical insurance for 5 years so the only time I went to the Dr was when I was sick with bronchitis or strep throat.

I have pain in chest area right under my right breast, if you place your four fingers under your breast right in that area. The pain radiates to my back and across my right shoulder. It doesn't matter what I eat I end up in pain in that area. I was told by 3 friends who are nurses that it sounded like my gall bladder. When I went to the Dr with my list of complaints, she said it sounded like my gall bladder to her as well and ordered the ultrasound.

Thank you for your well wishes.

Carol, that is the number one complaint about the hospitals here. When our daughter Rachel had Dylan she had 1 really nice nurse out of the staff of 6 who were caring for her. ALL of the nurses in the NICU were amazing!! I guess that is the place to go if you need good nurses. I know the turnover at the hospital in nursing staff is horrible.

But, I must say out of the 3 hospitals we have here, St. Mary's is by far THE BEST to go to. Victor Valley is HORRIBLE, and so is Desert Valley.

Carol, YES, that would be Victor Valley!! A few years back there was a HUGE scandal about the cardiology dept there. It was "supposed" to be THE BEST in the state of CA, come to find out, the head Dr in that Dept was NOT a cardiologist at all, but an Internal Medicine Spe******t! So the cardiology dept was all but shut down.

Believe me Lynne, my Dr is going to hear it from me this Thursday when I see her. That's why I said you all will probably hear a loud ruckus about 11:15 PST Thursday morning. I KNOW she and her husband (both Dr's) have fired their entire staff for things like this before.

I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through Mae:( It is hard enough to deal with what is going on with your health without having to deal with a bunch of inept, rude medical staff:mad:
I hope that you finally get some answers when you have your appt. That can be so frustrating!
A note to all though--don't ever give up on getting your results! I had some tests done a few years back. They told me to call on a certain day for the results. Why do they do this?? Why can't they just call when they have them? I called everyday for awhile...."You'll have to talk to the nurse"...would leave messages everyday. I finally gave up figuring that if something was wrong, surely they would have called me. About a month later, I was at another medical appointment and they asked me about the results. I told them the story and they got on the phone immediately. Lo and behold-they got answers! They tried to say that they had called me. My chart had been refiled and my test results had been positive!! So just don't give up like I did...
Mae, I want to say that I hope they don't find anything bad-but sometimes it is better to find it and get it treated! You obviously have something going on...I just pray that it is as minor as possible and that they hurry up and fix it!!!

Thank you Dawn!!!

My Dr's office did call when they got my results in but I wasn't home. Her assistant left a message with DH. I tried to call her back as soon as I got home , about 20 minutes later. I said who I was and I was returning Shawna's call. I was told Shawna was with patients and could not come to the phone, and sent to her voice mail. This went on for over 2 1/2 weeks.

When I finally called and made an appointment I was told that at one time all 5 women were out of the office. One had a death in the family and was gone for 2 1/2 weeks, she just returned to work the day I called. 2 were out sick, and the other one (who happens to be my Dr's assistant) is out on maternity leave.

When I was never called back, I thought the same as you, "no news is good news," until the new nurse called me on DH cell phone. That's when I was told they had been trying to reach me. I KNOW that is a lie because I NEVER received a call at home and DH NEVER received one on his cell. IF someone had tried to call on either phone, if we were unavailable they would have reached our voice mail for each phone! We had NO messages on either. Like Lynne said, someone is trying to cover their behind!

Now I am worried that there IS something wrong since I had to have the thyroid scans. Maybe it's just a precaution since I have a family history of thyroid cancer, I dunno, but I'm sure praying it is!

Just was thinkin' about all this Mae.... maybe you should call the Dr.s service in the middle of the night. Then they will have him call you back (that's what they do here, anyway), and then when he wants to know what the emergency is, just tell him that you are having trouble sleeping because no one will give you your test results!! Bet that gets someone moving!
