I haven't checked into this but when I had gestastional diabetes my machine was free and then had to buy the supplies.I would not have known that but my local pharmacy had told me about it.

I received this today.........it came through Fedex overnight shipping.....And the product is really very nice.......It has One touch blood glucose monitoring system,10 test strips, 10 lancettes steriles, sampler and a registration card (its says register the product online and receive 20 free lancets)..........

I was also asked for the code but then I went back and changed the insurance company that I picked and it allowed me to do it without a code. I had entered my actual prescription insurance provider of Express Scripts. I had been wanting the smaller meter to carry in my purse. THANKS!

I was so thrilled to get this sample. I have diet controlled diabetes type 2 and needed a meter. This arrived quickly and it chock-a-block full of information. My doctor can write a prescription for the supplies and my insurance will help cover that cost as the supplies are expensive. I'm thrilled with the samples that have started arriving and this one is the best :D

Actually my sils did the same thing. After she just let it sit and turn itself off. she inserted another strip and it worked. So try playing with it again.We thought hers was broke but then after it set it worked fine.

I can tell you once your strips hit there expiration date they will not work!

I put it all back in the box and left it alone for a while. i just NOW tried it again and it worked. I checked my sugar to see how accurate it was with my current meter and it is right on the money.

I can't get this to work! I tried to order one for my husband - he is at high risk for diabetes (family history/over 40). When I click on the website it takes me to the one-touch, one touch ultra, etc. I clicked on the insurance and that this is my first meter and it only takes me to a screen for information about the product. Can't find where to click to order the free meter. Is it still available? Help, please!
I just tried this and it worked fine. Heres what I did.

For insurance I used blue cross blue shield of south carolina. and marked the box for this is my first monitor.The next page shows 5 or 6 meters to pick from after I picked the next page was the order form.Try using that insurance name and see if that helps! :)

they don't send any info to your insurance.I'm not sure why they even ask that question.you can use any insurance company listed but... some ask for a promo code the b.c. & b.s of south carolina I know doesn't ask for anything.Its real simple. :)

I got the new monitor -literally the next day. They FEDEXed it to me! I was really surprised.

This was great, becauase I am notorious for leaving my monitor wherever I last used it (home or work) - not a good trait for a diabetic. lol.

NOW, I have one at my desk at work, and can leave it there, and one in my purse, and don't have to worry about taking the one out of my purse during the work day.

And I got a pretty pink one! :D

Still Available. There was another one on here somewhere that I ordered that was still available the other day but I can't find it now. I think it was a choice of contour & something else by bayer? (you had to register) Also there was a cover/case for it too. My family members have diabetes so I order for them all since they are elderly.

Same here, I'm suppose to be tested once a year but haven't been in some time! My MIL also has developed Type 2 diabetes now! :( My son will definately need to be concerned about this when he gets older! :eek:

I ordered one for my dad and one for my grandpa. I called them today to see if they had gone out yet and they told me 4-6 weeks (even though the website said 2-3 weeks).
Also, he told me only one request had gone through - apparently you can only get one but the website doesn't reject it when you enter it a second time.
Just FYI...
I'm a little disappointed about the longer wait time since my family will be visiting next week so I probably won't be able to give it to them like I had hoped... :(

I had ordered these for friends of the family and sent them directly to them. The tiny ones are great...my friends keep one in their locker at work or in their purse. Always good to have a back up.

This is a great meter. Sadly my insurance does not cover their strips (it comes with 10 strips only)

I had to get a free one from AccuChek.
I ended up with an Aviva and it was free as well.
The best part was that the Aviva by Accuchek does not need a lot of blood to test.
I also had great luck when I wrote accuchek letting them know insurance would not cover enough strips they actually sent me two large boxes for free.

So those without insurance or limited write your meters maker They are really good about working with you in most cases.

I know Walgreen's puts out a small little Diabetes Magazine that often includes coupons for all types of meters strips etc.
They are usually free at the store Possibly check their website. I know the Hospital where I took my Diabetes classes and attend support groups for Diabetes always has that and other small magazines booklets and samples in one area I find lots of useful items there.
They have a link to it on their site in what they call their Diabetes center.

Also contacting the company that made the meter and explaining that things are tight and you would like either free strips or coupons depends on what you want to ask for.
I know my insurance would not cover more strips for me and i wrote Accu Check and they sent me 2 50 boxes So i got 100 strips just for asking.
Possibly ask there if they will give you one or the other
