I just found out i am pregnant

Today, February 7th, 2008, me, freebie lover found out i am pregnant.
I took 2 home pregnancy tests and they were both positive. i am still in shock because i am almost 38 years old
Tomorrow, i am going to the ob/gyn to confirm with bloodwork that i am indeed expecting.
have i said that i am shocked????

Congrats! I've mentioned this elsewhere on the forum: My best friend is pregnant, due in June. She has a 19-year-old and a 10-year-old. My brother has a 19-year-old, a 15-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a little guy who's nearly two. :)

i had it worked out......my youngest would be 18 when im 48....now i am starting all over again
let me tell you guys something
when my 5 year class reunion came along, i didnt go because i was about to have my 2nd son.........and then when my 10 year class reunion came around, i didnt go because i think i had my 3rd son on the reunion date
and we are having a 20 year reunion in may now........and ill prob not go now lol
i say the reunion had something to do with it:D

well went to the dr today for yet another test
I took both my positive pregnancy tests with me lol and showed them to the lady.....and she said........are you sure you want to take a test, you look pretty pregnant to me
and i said YESSSSSSSS
and they did an ultrasound and i saw my baby sac thingy..she/he looks just like his daddy:D

Today a friend of mine bought me a baby bouncer?
apparently babys HAVE to have it nowaday
i was going to buy it but im kind of superstitious on buying things before im 3 months
anyway this bouncer was 53.00 and it was on a 85% clearance for 6.36!!!!
she bought it for me lol and told me that it wasnt jinxing me

My kids loved the bouncers. Is it one you suspend from a doorway or one they sit in on the floor? I love the doorway ones. The kids had a blast and it was a great cardio and leg workout for them!

I always tested out the doorframe by hanging on it myself. My oldest found that he could take 3 jumps backwards and POOF it's a swing! It was too cute. He'd just laugh!

Yes,thats what I did with my last pregnancy;I ate alot of small meals to keep the nausea at bay.It was terrible with my last baby.

It could be due to the pregnancy, but make sure you follow up with that. After I had my first daughter, I was diagnosed with Graves disease. Did they recommend seeing an Endocrinologist?

They are always scaring people saying they have to talk to them about their tests and then when you speak with them it's like "All the results are fine"!! Panic for nothing! :rolleyes: I think they do that to us on purpose!! Some "whacky dr humor" or something. :p

It's good to know that you can take Synthroid during pregnancy. I have a 15 yr old daughter that takes it for her thyroid, and one of these days she will want to have a family. Thanks for the info!

Glad your sickness has passed (hopeful) or at least given you a break! Keep us up to date on how you are doing! We're all wishing good things for you. :)

Congrads - I was 37 when I had my last of 4 - Kids ages then were 11, 7 & 6 now forward 6 years later :) first one is graduating high school and the last one is in first grade - It's been a blast for me and him (the baby)

thank you girls for thinking about me
Im high risk because i am 37(38 Tuesday) so i had a nuchal test Thursday they measure the back of the neck of the baby etc and take bloodwork to tell me my odds of having a baby with a birth defect. so keep me in your thoughts and prayers
but at this point my baby is perfect

Had my nuchal test where they test for downs sydrome etc, and you have to be at the most 13 weeks 6 days
they called me and told me they couldnt do the test because at the time(i thought i was 13 weeks exactly) i was measuring 14 weeks 3 days so baby is growing big ole time!!!
so tomorrow, i will be 16 weeks prgant! almost halfway there!

My fourth pregnancy they told me was a boy (to go along with my other boys, too!) but in the delivery room, the Dr. said, "It's a girl." and I was like, "Are you sure???":eek: lol Good luck!!

I have both a girl and boy...they are 6 years apart...had the girl frist...when I found out I was having a boy...I cried for 3 days...I thought "I do not know the first thing about a boy and how to raise one" but I knew all about girls....well..he will be 8 next month and I am so glad I had a boy!!!!

Congratulations! I can understand how you feel. I too am having my 3rd boy, and am due in early July. I was a little sad too, because I really wanted my daughter to have a little sister. But children are always a blessing. Good luck to you with the rest of your pregnancy!
