Today is our Primary Election for CA. I went to vote this morning when the polls first opened up. What a MESS!!! It was so disorganized!!! No-one seems to know what they were doing. Can't find your name on the list, I find it... and sign by it. Next person can't find my address, I find it right next to my name! The person handing out the ballots asks what's her number, then wait what's her name and political party. FINALLY get all checked in, and get the ballot in a HUGE cover.
I notice the ballot I have DOES NOT have ANY of the Presidential candidates listed for my political party, only the propositions we are voting on. I turn the ballot over and look on the back... blank! Hmmm... so I vote on the props and hear a man complaining to the poll workers that his ballot didn't have any Pres candidates listed and said he wanted the correct ballot.
I leave the booth and they say to him, "Sir, you received the correct ballot!" He told them he DID NOT! They show him on his sample ballot a number and then show him on his ballot a number that matched the number on his sample ballot. He is NOT happy!!! He takes the ballot and mumbles as he is walking to a booth. One of the ladies asks me if I received the proper ballot, I said "I'm not sure, mine didn't have ANY Pres candidates on it either ONLY the props!" She said, "these were the ONLY ballot we were given by the Register Voters Office!"
The ballots we used had to be placed in a HUGE cover, you had to take them out, fill in the broken arrow with a black pen, put them back in the cover, walk to the person who collected them, take it out of the cover, tear off the top portion and place the ballot in the box, hand the cover and pen to the person!!! What a MESS! I would have rather had the punch cards!!!
So, I am wondering if anyone else in any other state who voted had this problem??

Mae, DH and I vote by absentee ballot, we didn't have anything missing on our ballots, I would call the Register Voters Office and let them know, you should of had presidential canidates to choose from today, you think they would of checked those ballots first! before sending them out.

Thanks Carol! I told DH about my expierence and he said when he goes he'd better have Presidential candidates to chose from otherwise all HECK was going to break loose!! I can see the headlines now!!!
I will call the office and report it to them, I really didn't think of doing that. I have been busy trying to clean and read here in-between...LOL!
