I'm looking for help with cucumber salad, I don't know if that's the "proper" name for it, but anyway I've had it with tri colored noodles, tomatoes, and cucumbers, I'm just unsure what the mixture is. Is it Italian dressing??

Thanks in advance!
Angie :)

I'm not sure if thats the recipe but it sure does sound good!!

Any time I use Italian dressing on a pasta salad I like to take 1 or 2 splenda packets a pour into the dressing shake it up and pour over my pasta salad.

I guess it would be pasta salad, there are so many kinds. I'm thinking of making it with bowtie pasta, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Just wondering if it is italian dressing you would mix it with.

Yes you can use Italian dressing making this salad, or you can make our own, all depends on what you like at the time, I have even used Balsamic salad dressing for a more tarter taste.

I don't have a recipe for you, but I would suggest a "Silpat Pad" so whatever candy you make, it will not stick.....it's a great tool for the kitchen.

Thanks, where can I find one of these?

I bought mine from www.Amazon.com will be amazed that nothing sticks to it! just type in silpat, or silicone baking mat...
They also come in different sizes, so you can have either a small one or a large one, I have the large one, and I paid something like 15.00 for it.

TRY iTALIAN DRESSING, ADD SOMEMRS DASH, AND IF YOUR FAMILY LIKES MUSHROOMS ADD A JAR OF SLICED MUSHROOMS TO THE PASTA SALAD AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE SERVING

I don't want to sound like a tight wad, but is it worth $15.00? Will it last me forever? This is an investment piece right? I love Amazon anyway, will put it in my wish list there, thanks so much. I have always wanted to try the silicone pans, Just have to find the perfect nougat recipe first.

Yeah it is worth it, saves so much time especially when you can peel something off this mat, no greasing it ever, and it cleans easy with soap and water, rolls up for easy storage....it is an investment peice, (and it will last forever!) if you make cookies, rolls, peanut brittle, anything sticky, you will love this. I love Amazon too, I save my stuff in the wish list and when I have 25.00 worth that I can use with the free shipping I order!
I have some silicone cupcake liners and they work like a dream! I don't have any of the silicone baking pans, but may invest in some soon!

I checked amazon and found it for $16.99. (Silpat) I told Hubby if he wants Turtles at Christmas time he will get me this. I didn't have to twist his arm to hard, still trying to find a good nougat recipe. No one out there has ever made this?
I want it to taste like a baby ruth...

I had cucumber salad recently at a friends...it doen't sound like anything anyone has posted with the exception of the sour cream and vinegar???

Cucumber salad is just cucumbers and onions in a creamy almost watery tart dressing!!! No italian dressings, etc..........if anyone knows - I would love a recipe too..they are hard to find!! Kind of like ~ "what mom used to make"

This is one I make that is just like the one I get at the Thai restaurant. (It is not creamy tho) Does this sound like it?

English cucumber (best) or regular Cucumber (seeded) sliced and diced into quarters.
Red Onion, sliced and diced...as much as you want
Canola Oil (or your choice of oil)
Nakano Rice Vinegar Natural or Seasoned

I use about 2-3 T of oil and less than 1/4 cup of the Rice Vinegar, I usually just shake out some of the Rice Vinegar, mix and taste, add more if you wish, then mix well cover and chill.....or serve room temp...up to you.

My mom's birthday is in a few weeks and I'd like to make her a cake this year instead of buying one (I've gotta use that Kitchen-aid mixer more than just for the holiday's!) She loves this coffee torte cake from a bakery in her hometown in Michigan, and since flying from FL to MI to beg an old little Polish baker for the recipe probably isn't an option, I'd like to see if anyone on here had a good recipe for a coffee flavored torte. From my brief search online, I see that a torte is basically a layered cake with frosting or something between the cake layers. So, maybe a coffee flavored cake recipe would work. Thanks in advance for the help!
