Sometimes I think the postal employees have contest to see how much stuff they can attach and or stuff into a mail box. LOL!
My box is a regular basic end of the drive style cheap model. Because I am an avid ebayer she drops packages on my deck all the time. Today I got home before the mail had went. I didn't hear her pull up today so I finally thought I think i'll go check the mail. i step out and I see a box hooked to the front. in my mail box was a free florida travel mag a yogi tea sample the ball free salsa and the charmin wipes along with 4 bills.Infront of that is a box that barely fit from bzzz agent the lid was open and theres a good size box sitting on the lid with several rubber bands holding it and the lid in place like a tray. LOL! I got so tickled in the time it took her to tie that together she could have pulled in dropped it at the door and been gone! I'm so glad its small town and everyone is very friendly!!

I think I can top that, I have the laziest mail person I have ever seen, I have reported her so many times they hate hearing from me, her latest thing was this, my friend ordered for me a nice box of Vidalia onions, the mail person dumped it in my driveway in the hot sun, I called the PO asap and gave them a peice of my mind, they could not believe she dumped it in my driveway....she also holds on to or throws out the weekly circulars for the grocery stores, so I call the PO on that also, I don't know why she is still allowed to deliver anything....guess cause I live a rural community??

I enjoyed hearing about your mail carrier stories. My postal carrier always has a smart aleck comment to make everytime he has to deliver something to my door (I also shop ebay quite a bit). The last time a package came, he said something like "Someone should take your computer away from you." I took it as a joke, but I really don't like that he always has something to say. One time I ordered some books off ebay and he said something like "Why don't you just go to the library." I want to tell him something like, "Yeah, it's ashame they don't use UPS- they are so much friendlier" or something like that, but I don't.

We have terrible mail service, seems like if it's raining or too hot, we don't get our mail but when we went on vacation last year, I sent the post office a "hold notice" also marked the date for the mail to be delivered again. When we returned I saw the mailman, I checked my box, no mail...I asked him where our mail was, he said he got the notice but it never said anything about the mail being delivered by him, that we should check our records and go pick it up. I was so ticked off, the records clearly stated that we wanted our "held" mail delivered to our box, so like schmucks we went to the post office to pick it up. We always call him the lazy mailman now...
One more thing happened, the next larger package we got was supposed to be put in the "large package" receptacle and the "mailman" puts a key to it in your/our box...well, he put the key in someone else's box and they didn't have a key to their box 'cause they just moved in and previous tenants had taken it with them when they moved...SOOOOO we had to wait until the postal locksmith guy came.
I love when he's off sick and or on vacation, we get our mail at a reasonable time and never any complaints.

You know, it is sooooooo nice to hear that so many others have such problems with their mail service.
At Christmas time, I went out to get the mail as my mailman was driving up. I too am an avid Ebayer, and at the time was getting on average about 12 to 14 packages a week. Well, I said Hello to him and then asked "how are you today?" he responded with.... "Well I would be better if people didn't have so many packages". HELLO! That is your JOB to deliver letters & packages.
Then one month a neighbor found my water bill in the park by our house.
And last but not least, my brother sent a priority mail envelope with delivery confirmation. It was lost, but guess where?!?!?!?!?!?! It was lost IN MY POST OFFICE. They scanned it in and then lost it! It took them 4 weeks to find it.
I am so glad the rates went up! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I love our mail carrier. He is so nice. He doesn't mind getting out of the car to put a box on the porch. If it's raining he'll put it in our car if it's unlocked. I know that some of you might that think that is crazy. In the summer he'll stop and we'll talk. When we move Hubby and I are really going to miss him.

When I run into my mail guy he always jokes that there must be a magazine in his bag for me somewhere :) I have so many free subscriptions (some I don't even know how I got!) that it's a given that I receive at least one magazine every day :p

I am so sorry to hear all these mail problems. We have an awesome Mail man. We live in the country, and the highway in front of our property is one of the most dangerous in our county. Our mail box sits right off that dangerous highway. He is always cheerful and polite, when he brings our mail to the door, if there is a package. He knows if he does not see my car that I am not home and so he honks his horn to let my disable husband know he is here and that he will be at the door in a minute. Giving my husband time to get to the door. He always takes an extra few seconds to see how my hubby is doing, since he is home alone. He knows I do not leave him alone unless it is absolutely necessary. Since the first year we bought this home 19 years ago, we have always left him something special in the mailbox for Christmas. Then after the New Year, we get a thank you card from him and his wife. Plus, when his children were little they would send us home made thank you cards, for the treats that I would make for them at Christmas time. No I am not an old lady. I am 51 and my mail carrier is probably 55. I wish all of you had such a caring person to deliver your mail.
