My hubby just received a job offer in Calgary, and other than knowing that it is cold, and what I can find online, I don't really know much about it.
I was hoping that if any of you had lived there for a while, or visited for any length of time that you could let me know so we could possibly exchange a few emails!
I have lived near Seattle my entire life, so I'm terrified of leaving!! :) Silly - - - I know!
Thanks - Wendi!!

Hee Hee - I'll have to check it out if hubby takes the job. I was planning on reverting back to my maiden name and having samples sent to my parents - then batting my eyelashes somehow across the phone and getting them to send me care packages! :) I was actually worrying about that! Silly me!!

Well, if they won't do that for you, I would! I totally understand how you feel!! I would have sample shock  'cause I'm like freebie-addicted!!

You are SO sweet!!!
Isn't it funny? I loved so many years without freebies, but now I've got to get them . . . love to hunt for them too! My hubby thinks I'm crazy! (Although he loves it when I find a great shampoo sample or a Schick razor!)

:) My husbands boss is from Canada, and he says the medical system up there is actually really great! I'm worried about that because I have to have surgery and bed rest if we decide to have another baby, and here we have family centered care, where they encourage your family to stay with you (and for you to stay with your baby if they are preemies), and I know they have that in Calgary for preemies, just can't find anything on bedrest yet!
It could be a fun adventure - hopefully we'll get some more details on Monday and make a quick decision. If it is yes, then I'm hitting craigslist and local outlets to stock up on warm winterwear!

If you want your family with you, you can be the boss. I've always found that the if you want to stay, that's fine with everyone. Just costs extra for any meals you have. My oldest was preemie and he had to stay. They let me stay as "guest". Same thing with my youngest when she had to stay longer for jaundice. I stayed in Iowa City for a whole month in my daughter's room, etc. You're the one in charge of how much family and who gets to stay. Don't let anyone forget that!! :)

I do agree with you, but have family members who had to share rooms with other patients, in which case, family was only allowed to visit during certain hours - I thought it sounded aweful!!
I am learning to be more assertive - especially after a long stint in the hospital prior to our son's birth!

It's worth any cost to have a single room!!! Trust me on that! lol

I absolutely agree with you! I was lucky enough to get a private room where my husband could actually stay with me! Thank goodness for insurance though - I was there for 3 months!
