What would your one wish be?


I think mine would have to be- to be able to get pregnant. My fiance' and i have been trying for almost 2 years now. I haven't been to the doctor yet, because i do think a lot of it is situational stress, and health. We both stopped smoking a month ago- i'm strictly on a Water/milk/juice diet, and i take a multi vitamin daily.

There is nothing i've ever wanted more then to be able to have a child- to be able to bless my fiance' with a baby. Ever get a feeling you were planted on this earth for a reason? I think that's mine. To become a mom. But to get there first!

My husband and tried for a year so our daughter would not be an only child. I took my temperature, tried all those positions they say help, different diets, etc.
NADA.

Finally I went to fertility doctor. He told me the reason I couldn't get pregnant was I had a tumor! He felt a very tiny one which would not allow implantation.

So he sent me for some more tests....turns out the tumor was our son!

I guess I am saying, it will happen when you least expect it. Best of luck!

That's crazy they thought that your little tiny implant (your son) was a tumor. Thank goodness they didn't try to take it any farther! I'm glad it worked out for you!

To answer your question, no he hasn't been checked. Neither of us have. I guess i just want to keep trying all natural before i start listening to people telling me what's wrong. I've already told my fiance' we'll give it one more year and if nothing, we need to find out why. I'm not allowing it to get there! :mad: :D

ok ..ready? LOL...a few weeks ago my son brought home this "passport"...said he had to do it everyday or he would lose his lunch recess. This thing is a paragraph with blanks in it for him to fill out. All of the blanks are for his name, age, birthday, parents name, address, and phone number. FIrst of all...that info is private and shouldn't be included in an assignment. If the kids do not get it done in class they have to bring it home..which means when the return to school and on the way they lose this piece of paper...EVERYONE/ANYONE has private info...which I feel is wrong.

Secondly...there shouldn't be an assignment attatched to a recess....the principal has already taken all morning recess' away from 2nd graders on up to 5th grade...because...and this is for real...the prinicpal found out that the 4th & 5th graders are not doing well on tests!!!:eek: So- she decided that all kids will have no morning recess..then if they did not turn in this passport thing..they do not get recess after lunch either.
This is/was an everyday assignment. So, I complained that my son had plenty of homework already and I feel that work should not be attatched to a recess and said that I refuse to make him keep doing it.

Well a week went by and he was forced to sit out of having recess and so I called the Assoc. Superintendant and complained. He agreed with me that it was wrong of her to take away recess. So she turns around and says ok- they only have to do it on Tuesdays and it is now deemed homework. Well my sons teacher has told me that her opinion is her kids get enough homework from her this "passport" added on is too much.
Well my son kept coming home with it and keeps being told he HAS to do it.

I did more calling.....then, all last week it looked as though things were looking up... he wasn't being made to do it and was getting his recess...until yesterday!! He told me that he had to sit inside on a bench and cried because he could not have recess for not turning in this paper!!

So i went even higher above peoples head to the President of the school board- who just mocked me and laughed and thinks I am full of crap! I even went to our local paper- only to be told that this paper/assignment teaches kids responsibility. Yeah maybe after doing it a couple times...but I swear my son has had to write this thing 20 times or more already.

I have talked to the principal only for her to tell me if my son doesn't do this- "He will suffer the consequences then!"

Here is what she is wanting these kids to write..

Now it is a Tuesday due by and it is now deemed homework And this is on top of homework from his teacher that is 3-5 short stories he had to read- 2 pages of math..and take his 10 spelling words and write a stroy with them incorporated into it.

If this was part of an assigment for writing- that is one thing- but I feel it should not be a stipulation of a child recess!!!! As it is these kids are not getting morning recess!!

So needless to say I am fed up with this principal, the district, and anyone who thinks it is ok to have our children parading around with this info that could get lost and end up in a strangers hands!! And it should not be attatched to a recess!!!!!!!!!

Any thoughts?

Our son(being much older than your child) had to draw a diagram of how to get to his house last year...this year in another class they had to draw a floor plan of the house. Tell me how, in these times that we live in, do teachers think this is a good idea?

It's just a homework assignment that will take him 5 minutes to complete. I know it if frustrating but when he doesn't do it, it is him that suffers not you. I would say keep making complaints but in the mean time I would encourage him to do it. If he is coming home to hear you complaining about, it is going to make him less likley to do it. If every parent complained about every assignment the school system would be flooded by these type of things. Maybe you should look at it as a positive thing. If there were a real emergency he would know all of his information. Sorry if I sound harsh. I have an 2 aunts in the school system one is a principal and one is a teacher. It is impossible to please 30 parents. So I say just stay positive the school year is almost up.

Well keep making the calls and maybe you can get through, but in the mean time not making him do it is just going to make him be punished. Hope you can find the answer you are looking for soon.

I would go to the school in person and insist of speaking with the Principal, bring with you, in writing a note saying you will not allow your son to participate in that "Passport", that you feel it's a privacy issue and all of that information is already on file with the school. Tell the Principal you have also sent the same note to the Superintendent and President of the school board. Make sure you sign and date it, and make a copy for yourself as well.

Tell the Principal that this will be the last time speaking to him/her about this issue, and the next step will be to post a letter to editor of your local newspaper, as well as the local TV station. Tell him/her to have a nice day! Make it short and to the point, no need to further explain why anymore.

Years ago when my daughter was in 2nd grade I went to Open House, I asked the teacher (a man) where was my daughters work, he said over there in a box, I said to him, you mean you haven't anything to show me, and her work is not graded? He said, no it's not graded, I haven't got around to doing it, I immediately went to the Principal and said I am here for open house and this teacher has NO work of any of the kids because he has not graded anything, that teacher was moved to another school asap, he ended up in Watts, if you live in Calif. you know Watts is not a desirable city to live in, let alone work in!!

Yes, and tell the Principal that you want that note to go into your sons school file, if she/he refuses tell them to put it in writing! You have every right to ask for and receive that!! She said he will suffer the consequences? Tell her to also put that in writing! If she will not do that, tell her she has no business saying that. Stand your ground and look her right in the eyes when you speak to her, that will show her you are serious and mean what you say.
The president of the school board said you have no rights?? I would be over there so fast and telling him if that is true, put it in writing and demand he give you a signed note stating such, you do have rights, do not let them bully you!!

I wouldn't worry about those other parents, when something does happen they are the first to complain! I swear some of them could care less, and feel school is a babysitter. I can't believe that others haven't complained, maybe if they have you probably wouldn't hear about it anyway.

I'm just telling you what I would do. I made a mistake about my daughters school year and the open house, it was when she was in 3rd grade...in second grade they were going to start bussing the kids out to schools far away, I refused to let her get on a bus, and started my own school with the help of a few other parents, that was the best school year ever! we found 2 teaches who essentially worked for free, between the 2 of them they handled grades 1-6. It was a lot of hard work, lots of parents didn't pay, books were taken, big fisaco, but in the end it was so worth it. The following year the public school changed it mind about bussing and my daughter went back to public school.

I think mine would have to be- to be able to get pregnant. My fiance' and i have been trying for almost 2 years now. I haven't been to the doctor yet, because i do think a lot of it is situational stress, and health. We both stopped smoking a month ago- i'm strictly on a Water/milk/juice diet, and i take a multi vitamin daily.

There is nothing i've ever wanted more then to be able to have a child- to be able to bless my fiance' with a baby. Ever get a feeling you were planted on this earth for a reason? I think that's mine. To become a mom. But to get there first!
