We are going to have a marshmallow and hotdog roast for my son's 4th birthday. Can anyone give me a cute poem or "wording" to use on the invitations? I'd like to incorporate the marshmallow/hotdog roast in the wording. Thanks

You don't want me to write one-it would be all about weenies and inappropriate for all 4 year olds:eek:

Weinnies and 'mallows all on a stick,
Held over the fire, that's the trick.
Come to the party and join in the fun,
There'll be plenty to eat for everyone.

If the children are roasting their own "weenies", I'd make sure you have plenty of adult supervision on hand!!! Don't want any scorched little fingers!! :( Sounds like a fun party! Hope your son has a great Birthday! :)

P.S.

You could make some S'mores too with graham crackers, marshmallows & chocolate bars. My son is 17 & still loves to make them with his friends!!!

Thank you for the compliments. I do this as a hobby and teach language arts at all levels. I enjoy writing.
**A suggestion: when trying to write something, like the little ditty for a party, think of what you want to say. Then, let it flow. The harder you work at it, the less successful you'll be. Poetry does not have to rhyme, if you didn't know that. And if you want to include a twist of humor, as I did with the left-over children, do it.
If you're interested in more suggestions or help, please PM me

OK-I decided to write an invitation to a men bashing party cuz that's the mood I'm in-LOL!!

Weenies, weenies-
skewer the attached body on a stick;
Hang the whole thing over the fire
that's the trick!
Come to the "PIG" roast and have some fun;
Plastic weenies with batteries are better than the real ones!

See Erin-I told you that I shouldn't be writing to children:rolleyes: :p

No, I'm not a man hater, or a lunatic--just being silly!!:D

Gosh, that is good! You are an awesome writer! I wish I was as creative with my words as you are! I love to write, but I am not good with my spelling and grammar, and with poems, I am not good with rhyming.

Hi. I need your help. My son is turning 9 years old and we are having his birthday party at a movie theatre. Can anyone help me with a cute verse to put on this birthday invitation.

Thanks :)
