Get the license plate number and leave behind this post-it (R) note on the offender's car that they have been reported for parking illegally in a spot for disabled people.

Handicappedfraud.org was launched as a community service effort to end the misuse of handicapped parking spaces and placards. **The disabled have run out of places to park, as their designated handicapped parking spaces are being taken by fraudulent individuals. Our cities are being robbed of serious metered parking revenue to to this abuse as well. The police are far too valuable and busy to stake out parking lots to ticket handicapped parking violators. The abusers go largely unpunished. It's time for our community to become the ambassadors for our cities, and report handicapped parking violators when they see it.

**Not in my area they haven't! Spots are always available.

Its $500 here in GA and I can't wait to use mine as my hubby is in a wheelchair and it is hard to find HC parking.

I read or heard about someplace where the police gave ticket pads to the handicap and they were authorized to write out actual tickets to anyone who violats the handicap parking regulations. I thought that was one of the best ideas I'd ever heard! Very cost effective anyways.

My luck I would give one to some poor soul who forgot to display their actual sign. My mom sometimes forgets to hang hers up.

That would be okay. I don't think they are official citations; more like a subtle "move your car, jerk" thing. ;)

What a cool idea! These Post-Its are a neat idea. I also really liked the idea of giving handicapped folks ticket pads to issue tickets themselves.

Haven't watched it in years, but I did like a bit in one "Highway to Heaven" episode. Jerks park in a handicap spot and give Jonathon a hard time when he says something to them. They come out and the Big G Man has turned their car upside down in the space. They've called the cops and then the cops tell them that they are going to issue a ticket for them parking illegally in a handicap space. Jonathon just looks up to the skies and smiles. :)

That's a good one. I do think "Big G Man" has a sense of humor!

Love it! I wish I had the ability to do that!

A few weeks ago, I was with my mom who is handicapped. We were waiting on a handicapped parking space at Walmart when a man in a small car pulled up beside us on the right and shot into the space before the other person had even completely backed out of it. The worst part? He was not even handicapped! I am usually pretty good about letting things slide off my back, but he was so completely rude and obnoxious, I wanted to knock his head off. If I'd had a baseball bat, I would have made like Carrie Underwood on his @ss!

This is a good idea. I am not handicapped, but I do see people neglecting these parking spots, and those who do obviously need them aren't able to get them...you can bet I will do my part in making sure I help as many as possible.
