I think you fall into the same hole that we have fallen into, we have not received our samples either, I do not know why this happens, is it the supplier? the SS site?? I do not know, and I don't know what more you can do other than what you have already done. I am very sorry.

I here you, Momsangel. The tote is what I really want and I never manage to be online, let alone signed into Startsampling where there are any. I emailed startsampling and was told they put the FTM things out between 6:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. cmt. That's 4:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. my time. Needless to say, by the time I'm awake, the totes are all gone. :eek:

I have received the restaurant certificate, I had to use 5,000 of my tryer miles for it, but I got it.

Since there is more than one sample being offered and talked about in this thread, which one do you mean? With your wording, I assume you mean the restaurant sample. But, you know what they say about people who assume. :) Which is why I'm asking, just to clarify. I have seen posts where others have been able to get one. Some of them are offered for free, some are offered in the tryer miles for 5,000 pts. The free ones do not last very long, so getting one is practically nil. Here is more about the restaurant certs..

Yes...I actually was lucky enough and I got one.. I believe it was about 2-3 days ago..Just keep trying! I never thought I would be lucky enough to get it but I did! ;) Good Luck!

Here is the response I got from Start Sampling:

With over one million members, it is virtually impossible to provide samples to all members. It's important to remember that StartSampling provides samples to the entire country.

We post batches of the $25.00 Restaurant coupon sample on our site at different times during the day and on different days of the week. Samples are on a first come, first serve basis. Please keep checking back on our site for samples to become available.

We are only able to offer a limited quantity of samples for business reasons. We will increase the quantities available, as they are able. Samples will be released almost on a daily basis, Monday through Friday, 6:30AM to 7:00PM CST.

I'm new to this forum site, not to Start Sampling. But what I've been reading, they make offers they can't accomodate. I stopped using my frequent tryer miles for gifts, because they are always sold out. I did the Amazon.com certificate, but it was only for a chance to win one, not get one. Very disappointing. I also find that they dont offer many free samples either. Walmart.com is the best free sample site ever. They have samples all the time and don't ask for so much information either.

I dont think it allows you to leave feedback on every sample. The magazines I have never been able to leave feedback. Are you making sure you log on everyday on the home page?

I would contact them except their link only seems to want to send email through microsoft outlook and so my computer tries to launch through outlook but I don't use that program. So unless someone else happens to know what their email addy is and can share that with me :) I don't know how to contact them. I was just looking at my history of site visits and it seems to have been since 10/10 :eek: that I last received visiting points. I thought it was longer because it seemed like forever since the total changed.

I don't always receive points when I log in through the login at the top of the page. But, if I scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Startsampling page, to where it says "Not getting Frequent Tryer Miles when logging in then click here" or something to that effect, then I always receive my FTM. You might try that.

BTW, I was lucky enough to get one of the restaurant certs a while back. I gave it to my mother and her BF who ended up spending another $100+ over it because is was a "nicer" place than I had realized! They really enjoyed it but because it wasn't someplace I frequented, I wasn't familiar with the pricing It might be a good idea to see if the place has an on line menu before choosing the location.

Congratulations. :) Does there seem to be any rhyme or reason when there are some tote bags available? I had sent an email asking and was told that they post the prizes for FTM's between 6:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. CST. That's 4:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. for me. They claim it was shipped 12/1........well, even the slowest mule doesn't take 4 weeks to get here. I will update what they say when they respond to my latest email. and originally when I emailed them on 12/10......they stated both had been mailed the week before.........now they try to make it sound like one was mailed 11/26 and the other one on 12/2 and the post office lost both.
I don't think so.......specially since we have those kind of mail boxes where the mailman puts our packages in the locker and puts key in mail box.

I received 9 packages that way from Nov through Dec from Amazon,Kohls,Walmart and Ebay.

I don't believe they ever sent these.....now they are claiming to reship them and track them so I guess they will put delivery confirmation on them.:cool:

I hate to say it but... It seems like I've heard several people make comments about there emails claiming they will reship.Just how much mail do they lose? I have a lot of Frequent Tryer miles and every time I go to check, they never have anything available. Once or twice, I've seen the restaurant coupons available but since the coupons are only good at two restaurants located 100 miles from me, they aren't worth choosing. I agree, I'd like to see them offer more stuff, more frequently. But its always the luck of the draw, if you happen to be on site when they have some thing available and then the items go fast. I'm never lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to get the Frequent Tryer Miles gifts.

I received the t-shirt today that I had ordered back in November 2008. I had emailed them to let them know I hadn't received it and they said they'd "reship" it. After reading what others have posted, I have a strong feeling it wasn't shipped to begin with, so they didn't have to "reship". But, at least I finally received it.

I agree, it does seem to be the luck of the draw to be on startsampling and checking the FTM's when they have what you want to order. I've quite often seen the Restaurant one, but not so often the t-shirt and never the tote bag. The tote bag is one that I really one. Anyone remember when they used have tv's for like 10,000 points...

anyone remember back when 911 happened and StartSample did the give your trier miles points away and giving the points away was like a donation and Startsampling gave money to the red cross...

also around that time companies stop giving a lot of good samples away...
they stopped sending food samples though the mail..

I like it when the candy companies gave samples of candy like air heads fruit chews

and there was another free sampling site that gave good samples back then...

then before the internet boom, to get free samples we had to call 1800 numbers, they would show commercials on tv for free samples, in magazines, in stores, etc..

there is a site called www.planetfeedback.com

it's a site that you can write to companies and complain. The feedback goes straight to the heads of the companies or near it...

I used that site many times, got a free vacuum cleaner, coupons and other items.

I used that before they changed hands, before it was little different, they changed little.

they give you a simple sample form for writing a complaint letter or you can write other letters. it is really nice to give happy feedback to companies. they like to hear happy comments. the simple form is there to make your letter look more professional. don't people don't follow direction and they write horrible letters.

Planetfeedback is a wonderful tool for writing complaint letters...

also when I used planetfeedback, people learned what companies want people to contact them through their website email or the 1800 number. It is nice to know that some companies value people comments through email or the 1800 number.

some companies it is hard to get though to them. so planetfeedback should be used if you can not get answers when emailing them or calling an 1800 number...

I was really into the sims game at the time... and Pepsi and other sites where giving items downloads, like if you had a number from a pepsi cap and we got points and we could download music and game items download..

back at the end of december i won a tshirt and havent recieved it so i just sent them an email cause the other day i recieved a totebag that i got using points which i sent out for like a month after i won the shirt :\. just thought it was weird i wouldnt have gotten the shirt before the tote bag. maybe the post offices like stealing freebies :( maybe they shouldnt say ...or current residence on the adress label lol.

2 and a half months ago i took some of my points and turn them in for two of the $ 25.00 restaurant gift certificate I have never heard from any one on these but they got my points i have been emailing but no answer back from start sampling i get samples all the time in the mail so I go to leave feed back it says sorry it hasnt been 20 days when its been over 30 days whats up with this ?
i havent been able to do feedback recently either. i know you cant do it for mags and samples you get when redirected to the site the sample is for and sending out for it there. its been a while since startsampling has had samples that you just click order and thats it.

i don't believe they ship the prizes when they say they do............mine took forever......they claimed they reshipped and put tracking on my prizes..........t-shirt and tote bag.........(in total, they tried to say they shipped them 3 times)
finally, I notified them again........and within a week i received TWO t-shirts and TWO tote bags...............there must be some kind of communication breakdown between them and the shipping dept..............it took almost 4 months for me to receive them..........and I notified them 3 times........they kept saying they were shipped the week before...........I would keep hounding them until you get the stuff.
They tried to blame the post office but i told them.........I was getting samples and other packages w/no problems and that the post office was not just messing up on their packages.............like I said, I believe they fail to communicate to the shipping dept or they run out of them and do not let us know..........so they are basically backordered for a LONG time.

At least, I got two of each........:)

They just had the tote bags and t-shirls about 15 minutes ago. Unfortunately, they are gone now. They sure don't last long. What I do is to keep the page open that lists the FTM prizes while I'm doing other things online. I will periodically go to the FTM prizes page and refresh it to see if they have any of the tote bags or t-shirts. Doing that today, I was able to order a tote bag today. The last time that I was able to order a tote bag was March 26. Like you, I seem to time in when they only have the restaurant gift certificates. It seems to vary on what time of day they have them.

Asumom, they seem to be doing better about sending them out. I ordered a tote bag on March 26. I just received it April 25. I didn't even have to email Startsampling to ask them where it was. When I ordered a t-shirt last year, that was a different story, though. I did end up needing to email them and they said they'd "reship". Anyway, they seem to be doing better now. My sister-in-law also received her tote bag last week and she ordered hers near the end of March.

I don't know if it's daily, but it does seem to be a few times a week. And it does seem to be random on days and times. Just not on the weekend. Not that I've noticed anyway.

Well... a little over a month ago or so I used my FTM (5,000) for the $25.00 Restaurant Certificate. We used it recently (there is only one place that takes it and it is about 30 miles away). It was a great meal and we only had $16.00 OOP for our BIG meal (with the three of us buying the most expensive meals there, having an appy, and even getting "drinks" (iced tea/sodas) as opposed to water with lemon)! :D

Anyhow... the certificates are back up! I just "spent" 15,000 FTM :eek: to get 3 of the $25.00 certificates! I now have a mere 30 FTM as I have spent a total of 20,000 lately... it will take awhile to build those back up! LOL! :D

It will be nice to know that we will have the opportunity to have a nice, sit down meal (without breaking the bank) three times in the next year! :)

The tote bags seem to go very quickly. I guess I'm assuming that Startsampling puts them up everytime they put up the Restaurant Gift Certificates. But, maybe they don't. I've only seen them up a couple of times. I contacted startsampling and suggested that they put up more tote bags because they go so quickly and put up less Restaurant Gift Certificates because they seem to take forever to go. That was a couple of months ago.

I buy tote bags at a thrift store. They are always less than $1.00, sometimes $.25! I have a whole collection of interesting ones! Maybe if you need more you can check at a thrift store near you!:)

It took about a month for me to receive my tote bags. If it's been longer that about 5 weeks, you should contact startsampling and let them know you haven't received your tote bags yet. I had to do that when I ordered some of their t-shirts. They asked that I included my address in the email.
