This is a pretty cool step by step instruction guide to revamp a remote control for an elderly person to have ease of use with it!
"My mom was born in 1931. She is from the generation of radio and WWII. Her eyesight is failing and she isn't good with anything electronic. TV remotes confuse her. This mod came to me after she called me one day, claiming her TV remote stopped working. It turns out, she inadvertently hit the button that activated the VCR functions. She didn't know or couldn't see the button to reactivate the TV functions. So I decided to "dumb" down the remote to only three functions: On/Off, Channel and Volume."
This is an easy Instructable that you can do in one day. You can put this together with basic tools:
Scissors
Soldering Iron
Iron
Screwdriver
Hot Glue Gun

ROTFL... same here. The way hubby has our cable set up you have to have the cable box, VCR, and TV all on at the same time to watch TV! The TV has to be on Line 2, I think! When the Grandbaby pushes all the buttons on the front of the TV we are in BIG trouble!!! LOL!

I have the solution for all of you (or at least a laugh). I saw this over the holidays and laughed so hard I choked:

Yeah, saw one of these giant remotes in Walgreens the other day. It would still end up hauled off and hidden by the toddler, though the sheer size of it would cut down the hide and go seek places some :D
