Anyone watching?
I actually fell asleep last night at like 9:30 (too much Christmas stuff). Woke up at 11:00 but it was a repeat of last week's episode. Was there a new episode this week?

They do this every year around the holidays, instead of showing the next new episodes they skip through Christmas and the New Year. They did the same thing with Top Chef last year too. "Sigh" I need my PR fix!!!!!! This show has inspired me to learn to sew-how about any of you?

I love this show!!! I still cant sew though!! I have a really old sewing machine from my Grandma(passed away in 88'). She used that to make my Mothers clothes...My Mom can sew wonderfully but me...HECK NO!! One day I will try to learn.;)

Does this mean there won't be a new episode until after New Years? I can't remember past seasons and what was done.

Sorry, no good at names, but I'm glad she's gone. I called her looney, I think her real name is Elyssa or something.
Very proud of Chris, he is capable of turning it down that was nice to see. I really like him.

Storzo, I agree about Chris, I think he's a great designer. You know he's actually made quite a few nice garments and kind of flies under the radar when I personally think he should be a contendar to win (i.e. tonights episode, men's wear). IMO, I think he should have won last night. Rami's design was nice but I thought a bit over the top, Gosh Jillian's looked awful-I mean I give her kudos for actually using food but the end result was not nice. The nicest thing I could say is I like red! All she needed was a cowboy hat and she could of went to the next square dance!
Can't wait to see next weeks challenge. BTW, I'm still waiting for the sewing machine! Maybe for my birthday.

I finally got to see that episode. To run crazy through Hershey, I would love to do that. ( I live 40 minutes from the factory in PA:p , that town smells awesome) But I think that I would have gone for Christians outfit. I liked the idea of the Reese's wrappers, but cried when I saw the candy in the trash!

Didn't see the whole episode, I fell asleep...too much running around this week. I'll have to catch it on a replay.
I did see the end though. I have to say that the panel of judges must not have teenagers or look at the teen magazines because all I see for prom are dresses that are ***y, clingy, short, low-cut, cut-out, etc. basically too old for teens. So for them to give a low score based on a dress being inappropriate for prom was off. Not that I don't agree especially with some things I see out there but that is what is out there.
Just wondering what was the drama Christian alluded to with his "model"?

Agreed, all of the dresses to me looked pretty sophisticated.
Christian's model was a bit difficult and opinioinated. Maybe I'm not the best one to ask though because she reminds me of a girl I don't like...but anyway she was very opinonated about what she wanted. She was telling Christian she wanted something Brown or Gold and stitched like this, etc. etc. I'm not a big Christian fan but I did feel bad for him. In her defense he probably could of been a little more open. With each suggestion he just kind of looked at her and said "Ummm...OK" with his usual sarcasm. Bottom line I think they both had their own ideas and just didn't come to a real comprimise IMO. I also think Ricky should have left--his dress had a lot of potential--to me he managed to make a larger girl look slimmer BUT the stitching was really sloppy, put together poorly, and the girl choice was bad--though not as bad as Rami's choice! OMG, his dress probably would have looked fine if he would of picked ANY color but puke green. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE green but that one was bad. Again, Chris was safe from elimination but wasn't in the top 3 which I thought he should have been. I also liked Sweet P's dress. Victorya's was OK until she put those beads on the neck--IMO tacky.
Gosh I'm just going on and on...guess I really like the show:D

I agree with you on Sweet P's dress, she should've won the imunity.
I also think Rami's dress would've looked better and even more youthful in a vibrant color. I really liked it.
I also have to agree with you on Chris. I thought he did very well and he is continuing to tone it down, exactly what the judges asked for. He should've gotten some credit. But I am maybe impartial because I just like him...he reminds me of a big teddy bear!

All I can say is: "Coco Chanel has left the building!!" I think the personalities of the contestants are interesting....from so avant garde to "I could weave water and make it pretty." I watch just to watch them. And then, there is THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA.

Sweet P, should have won that challenge. Now, I don't know if it was my TV, but I liked the color of Rami's dress. I think that it was too old for her, but I liked it overall. I have to agree with vealcalf, Ricky's dress did nothing for me. It did wash her out and there wasn't anything creative about it.
I would have like Victorya's if maybe she used the same color rhinestones at the top.
But I like my Prom Dress better!!!!

I agree........Sweet pea should have won..........I love Chris...he makes the show fun to watch............and Christian is delightful..........his teenager was a real PIA...........but he shouldn't have blamed her on the runway.
I LOVE this show even more than TOP CHEF and I am big fan of that.
Bravo is impressing me with their reality shows..........better than the ones on other networks although I have to admit,,,,,,,,,,I am a bit of a reality show junkie........Celebrity Apprentice tonight..........Gene Simmons insults Donalds daughter..........s/b interesting.....:D

Did anyone watch tonight? OK spoilers ahead.....
......
Rami used to not bother me but these last two epiosodes (Prom & Avant Gard) he's really getting to me. I think it's GREAT to have your opinion and stand by it, but come on you have to give a little! During Prom he tells Tim Gunn he doesn't care if Tim thinks it's too sophisticated because HE likes it. Now tonight's challenge he is YET AGAIN draping another dress and not listening again--Sweet P tried to intergect some excitement in his design but he'd rather be...BORING...I can't sew but even I think I could drape a dress. When he was up on the chopping block I really hoped he would go but figured based on his track record they'd give him another pass. Thanks goodness Sweet P made it by. He gave her such a hard time and seemed like he didn't want her to spend any time on her everywear dress...she had the last laugh though when judges liked her dress but not his!
Poor Kit. Judges didn't like her dress but I actually thought it was creative if not Avant Gard. I think it's a real shame she had to go.
Raise your hand if you wish Chris would have been designated Team Leader (((waving hand)) Truly the creative design was all his and really wish he would of been the leader and got immunity. It's about time he got some recognition-I almost wish judges would have stepped outside of their box and recognized that he was the one who would of come up with that concept--it screamed Chris! But he was being a nice guy and said it was a total joint collaberation. Oh well, I guess I wouldn't like him as much if he wasn't super nice and claiming the entire design probably would have come off as b i t c h y.
Thank goodness I'm off work on Thursdays that I can manage to stay up and watch this!!!!

I finally saw the episode that you were talking about. I really liked what Gillian and Victorya made, love the coat. I think that it was a tough choice to send home. I like Kits, "art" creative side, but Romi is doing the same old thing. Great for the first challenge, but not the second or third.....
I have to agree and saying that this year seems to be the toughest.
I wonder what the next challenge will be. They were on a field trip, you like it will be recycled materials like the last season???

Yeah, last weeks - the denim challenge. The least they could've done was play an old episode from a past season so I wouldn't remember everything and would be slightly entertained.

After watching the denim challenge again, I can't believe that Gillian and Victorya lasted as long as they did. They were never organized with time, always rushing to the last minute. I think that Gillian will be the next to go.

So happy to see Chris win. I don't know what it is but I just really like him. This challenge seemed geared to him.
Christian's arrogance is starting to grate on me. I find him funny and I like his designs but be a little humble. His face when he doesn't win reminds me of a kid who didn't get EVERYTHING at Christmas.
Sorry to see it because I liked him, but it was definately Ricky's time to go. I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.
And lastly, I don't think Sweet P's design was that bad. She didn't deserve to be in the bottom two. I should've been Ricky and Rami.
Although, maybe they all should have gotten a free pass because they did all please their clients.

What an episode! This one was something else, I too agree, this one was all Chris. I WANT that leopard hoodie. LOVE IT...
Christian does need to grow up. I want to slap him sometimes and take his flat iron away from him. He does need a helping of humble pie.
I was very surprised that I liked Gillian's design. I thought that was perfect for her client.
It was Ricky's time to go. Funny how you can win a challenge one day and be sent home the next.
I have a feeling that the final 3 will be: Christain and Romi. I don't know who will fill that third. Hopefully it could be Chris!

Agreed it was nice to see Chris win a challenge. I can't believe that they keep commenting favorably on all of Christian's designs when it's about the same thing each time!!!! How many skinny pants and cropped jackets can one guy make? If they put him with the final 3 I think that's all we'll see! I also didn't think Sweet P's was that bad. I just think the silver color was maybe a not so good choice and she had the misfortune of dealing with a client who thought more bling was better. Julian's was pretty nice. I thought Rami's was awful. To me it didn't even look remotely like a wrestling diva outfit and was just plain ugly!!! I think Rami and Ricky should have been in the bottom. Ricky was the right choice to be eliminated. I'd love to see Sweet P go further but she worries me sometimes with being kind of unsure about herself and relying too much on Tim Gunn for tips--I'm sure being on "reality tv" has to nerve wracking! I'd definetly like to see Chris be in the final 3. BTW does anyone have TIVO/DVR? The reason I ask...I was watching clips from next week's episode and paused it when they were focusing on Christian and I saw his "creation" in the background, guess what it was????
SPOILER.......
Another cropped jacket!!!!!

Did anyone watch???? I actually liked Christian's creation. When you looked at the painting and then his outfit he really captured the look and the spirit of the painting IMO. Jillian's outfit reminded me of something from Cabaret. The judges just seemed to love it but I wasn't crazy about it. Sadly I agreed with the judges that Sweet P's was just a pretty dress. I thought it was OK. I think it she just would have taken it an extra step and had some length in back with some kind of exotic train I think it would of taken to the level they were looking for. Rami's was pretty but oh so predictable as usual. I was a little disappointed that Chris didn't seem to put as much effort into the challenge (or was that clever editing???). He captured the essence of his picture but it was a very close copy the dress him and Christian created. Of course we could all argue and say hasn't Rami basically made the same dress and hasn't Christian made cropped jackets on every challenge??? Even Julian has made jacket after jacket. Oh well....
One more thing that's driving me crazy is seeing if Chris or Rami will get to show their collection. So they are basically both going to create an entire collection and not know if it will actually show??? Oh My! That would be rough to lose that challenge!
storzo
02-14-2008, 09:30 AM
I agree that Rami's dress was same-old, same-old and that Chris's was very similar to the gown he and Christian created; however I don't think the judges should have lumped them together. Chris made two items that were similar while Rami did a whole season of similar items and Christian too with the pants and jackets.
I also think Sweet P should've went a little more "crazy". It was a pea**** after all!
I believe that all five of them showed at Bryant Park because the show was held before this episode and they didn't want any spoilers to get out, but we will only see the three finalists on the show. I really would like to see Chris because as Heidi (I think) said whether you like his stuff of not, he will put on a show.
Can't wait to see the reunion next week!

I finally saw the episode this past weekend. I felt so bad for Sweet P. She was the only one that was "kicked" off. I can't believe that Rami gets to have a chance at fashion week. He better not take that away from Chris. Also. I am really REALLY surprised that Jillian made it that far. I wouldn't have even guessed her to make it. She gets to panic'd at the end, and she never seems "ready". I know that Christian was going to make it. Can't wait to see everything.

I saw her face! I thought she might actually open her mouth and say something at that point. It seems since she didn't make the finals, she just doesn't care anymore. Even when Heidi brought up that she had a show, she didn't say much.
I was very surprised Chris didn't win fan favorite. It looked like they all were. Christian is very talented and very personable. He made fun of himself and others and made good tv.

I don't consider Rami because I don't think he's going to be in. I don't care what he says, I think his line will be draping, draping, draping and Chris is going to put on a show even if it kills his chances of winning. And what is TV all about if not the "show".

I agree - I think Chris will create an interesting line, and I think Rami will be predictable, which is good - I'm sure he will do well, because his style is classic and he does high quality pieces.
I think overall it will be between Christian and Jillian, and to be honest, I'm not sure who I want to win.

I know Rami won the chance to go to fashion week because they said that Chris' designs were still geared more toward the costume side. I'm trying to remember the other comments they said.
They did talk about Rami listening to what they said and doing a more tailored fit to his items, and using different styles instead of only draping.
They criticised both for doing such dark pieces.
I agree with Liz though - Christian might not have won a lot of the weekly contests, but he was consistently good throughout the show - and I was surprised because he was only 21 I think . . .
I missed the finale, so will try to catch it on re-runs. I did peak at the collections online by searching for bryant park project runway, and I did see all 5 collections from the show. Sweet P (didn't like her stuff at all!), Chris (REALLY liked some of his dresses!), Rami (did a good job), Jillian (don't remember much about hers), and Christian (his seemed to really go with that last one he did on the painting). It was really fun to see what they did!
Can't wait for the next season to start - I've been hooked on this show for 2 years now! :)
