I don't know if this is the same but I have had 2 c-sec the last one was almost 2 years ago. I still don't have much feeling there, and if I move just the right way I can feel a pulling. Not really a pain just uncomfortable. If you are in real pain I would go see a doc.

Did you originally have implants and then a breast reduction or did you just have a breast reduction on your own breasts?

That numbness will never go away, it's because they cut through muscle, nerves, and you have scar tissue, I have 3 incisions on my stomach, 2 C-Sections and 1 Hyster......still numb after 34 years....then I had knee replacement 2 years ago on my right leg, my leg looked like something spooky, from the knee down it went out at an angle they said about 25% so if you saw it it looked like it was broken and out to the side.......surgery was something else and now parts of both legs are numb, in weird places like parts of the bottom of my foot are numb and some toes, it is a weird feeling, and of course the incision is still numb, but you will learn to just live with it, if you are in pain tho see a doctor they could of pinched a nerve or scar tissue is pulling?

You will get use to it, and after time goes by you won't think about it at all, but if that pain gets worse see the doc cause it may be a simple thing like scar tissue that they can fix....;)

fix it how ????????
They can cut out the scar tissue if it is thick, sometimes it pulls and that is what they do, I'm not saying this is what is causing your pain, that is why it is best to tell the doc it hurts.

Wanda,
There actually may be some of it that can be treated. I do therapy a lot with people that have these symptoms after a surgery. There often times is some nerve damage that is irreversible after surgery, but that kind of trauma to the tissue also creates what are called Trigger points. These are often confused with pressure points but are not the same thing. Some trigger points do cause neurological symptoms, are then written off as nerve damage and are never treated. I may be able to help you with this, but not through posting. If you can wait til after the holidays, I can do a phone consultation with you(no charge). When I have more info I can likely make some recommendations. Is that OK with you?

I've had over 25 broken bones in my life (basketball injuries).
My left ankle and foot has lost most of the feeling. I was told my ankle did not heal properly and it has been damaged multiple times.
I went to 2 DR's to get opinions and I heard the same from both.
I would still contact your lawyer and I would even check to see if the surgeon was board certified. Very scary, but there are a lot of surgeons that are not licensed and insured.

You just tell your lawyer you didn't know the laws in this country. Usually 2 years is the limit, but just try and see what they say. If they can, I'm sure someone will take the case and you won't have to pay them unless you win. Then they take 33% usually. Also, don't expect money for about 4 years after you get it all started. :(

about the most you can do when it is getting on 2 years is get an extension of 6 months granted by a judge (at least that is what it is in NC). We tried to sue after my sister died (long unbelieveable story) after having gastric bypass. We could not get a lawyer cause no lawyer wanted to go after this "fine quality" hospital.

BREAST REDUCTION
I had one too when I was 15 (a decade ago).
The itching never goes away. At first it was really bad, but it was a sign of heeling. The places that itch are specifically on/"inside" my scars in the little "anchor" pattern. But when I try to scratch them, it hurts. I've lost probably 75% of sensation up there, with the exception of 1) itching and 2) pain. Lovely huh? But I wouldn't trade it for getting the monsters back.
As for your arm, I remember my arms tingling for a little while after surgery, but that went away too. I am assuming the cuts on each side extend to right under your arm pit (not into it, just that far back). I know they had to cut into muscle right there on me and something to do with that is probably what's causing you pain. Maybe someone nicked a nerve? I'm no doctor... They gave me strictest orders though to not use my arms for heavy lifting, etc because it could mess with the healing right there. I think that took the longest to heal too.
Regarding your surgeon, mood4amelody is RIGHT!!! LOOK INTO HIM. We "shopped" for mine, and every single referral led us back to ONE doctor. He wasn't on the list covered by our insurance, so we had to pay most of the costs. I am thankful for finding him though- did you know that doctors can attend a weekend seminar on plastic surgery and become qualified to do it? Well, at least that's how it was 10 years ago.
Oh yea, and seriously- while the major part of the healing process took a matter of month, it continued for 2 years. I'm not kidding. For 2 whole years, my "nips" (I have the feeling that the whole word will be automatically censored) would come to attention at ANY temperature change- hot to cold, cold to hot, hot to warm, warm to luke warm, whatever. When they finally calmed down, most of the other healing signs had lessened considerably or gone away.

I had my gallbladder and appendix removed in 1988 and it still kills me if a baby tries to stand there when I am playing with it. It feels weird when I lie on my stomache.
I also had carpal tunnel release on both hands and I fell in the shower on the left one and it tore the stitches. It still bothers me to this day and it itches and swells and that surgery was over 8 years ago. I think there is a certain amount of scar tissue that bothers anyone after any type of surgery forever.
Let us know what the lawyer says!!

From my belly button to pubic hairline is still numb from a c-section in may 2006. It feels weird too when I lay on my tummy. And I cannot stand for my daughter to stand on it!
